That’s very wonderful to hear! I took my Shahada nine months ago. I never understood the concept behind why Muslims prayed 5 times a day at the minimum. But I realize now that establishing prayer throughout the day helps keep your mind on Allah. I’ve given up drinking, many of my non Muslim friends, or who I used to see as friends, I don’t really engage in conversation with as much as we used to. There are still some areas that I struggle with, but I see that they’re things I don’t do as much as I used to and I trust that with Allah I will fully move away from them. @@selfhelp6930 I can't speak for him and his friends, but I would imagine it's a sort of widening gap of misaligned values probably distancing them and/or changing the relationship. It's so societally/culturally normalized for non-Muslim and/or non-religious ppl to frequently drink, smoke, talk badly about others, to not care deeply for people suffering around the world, to be so focused on more selfish worldly/capitalistic values, without very much thought to good deeds/sins/the afterlife - and it would just be difficult to hold space for people who operate like that when it's soooo so opposite to Muslims / Islamic values. All the things I mentioned are sins/major sins in Islam. (I'm a new revert as of like 2 weeks ago Alhamdulillah, and these are my sort of challenges with keeping my previous, non-Muslim friends)

I’m sure I can speak for other new Muslims that they move away, or keep a distance, from most of their non Muslim friends because they’re still interested in the things that you moved away from since accepting Islam. Maybe they like to go out and party/clubbing, maybe much of their social gatherings involve drinking alcohol, maybe they engage in gossiping about other people. Just to give some examples. I have an interesting story to tell, something which I witnessed not too long ago. Someone very close to me who is a Muslim recently lost their father to an illness. The family is Turkish and called a Turkish mosque for the funeral service. The Turkish mosque was quite far from the hospital so they advised them to call an Arabic mosque which was close to the hospital and the burial ground. Apparently in Islam getting a body into the ground as quickly as possible is an important task. Humans are tribal and just like there are churches where most of the congregation are black, white or Asian. Mosques seem to be the same, yes everyone is absolutely welcome but people of the same language and culture tend to flock together. So you see mosques where most of the worshipers are Turkish, African American, Algerian, Arabic so on and so forth but again like most churches everyone is always welcome. So the decision was made to take the body to the Arabic mosque, calls and arrangements were made for the next morning. The Mosque put out a facebook post stating the name of the person and where they're from and a call for the community to come out to the last funeral prayer. Obviously friends and close family members of the deceased showed up but what really floored me was the sheer amount of people who didn't know this man, had no connection to this man and didn't even speak the same language as this man showed up. Again learning that in Islam the funeral prayer of a person is very important for their soul. 100s of strangers from the Arabic community took time out of their day to show up and give prayers for a random stranger from another country. Knowing how people are and how the world operates, this shocked me. Shocked me to a point that it changed me. This level of kindness and effort on the part of strangers to strengthen a prayer for a stranger really did something to me inside. Your ummah might have bad PR and may be going through a rough period in it's history and divisions on a level never before witnessed in its' history. But witnessing this level of kindness within the community to a random stranger shows there is a bright light within the community just waiting to burst out into the open. Allahu Ekber.

This story touched my heart. Like Dravon, I was an occultist and magician in my jahaliyah. Islam not only led me away from those bizarre beliefs, but it provided me with everything I was actually searching for when I got involved in the occult. There are only 25 names of prophets known to mankind since Adam until the end of time. Prophet “Jesus” and Prophet Muhammad are the last 2. If God and Jesus are father and son, then they are either two gods or two men! The Bible also says this about Jesus: Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you. . (Acts 2:22) (Nazareth is a city in The Middle East). The Bible also says these are the words of Jesus “while on the cross”: “About three o’clock, Jesus shouted with a mighty voice in Aramaic,“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”-that is, “My God, My God, why have you turned your back on me? “ (Mark 15:34)

Allah is the Creator of all things Quran Chapter 57 is called THE IRON and Chapter 16 is called THE BEES. The atomic weight for the stable isotope of iron is 57. The male bee has 16 chromosomes and the female has 16x2. We can’t live without iron or bees. Since iron is the center of life and everything needed for life, chapter 57 is the center of the Quran which is 114 chapters. The Big Bang theory is a fact according to the holy Quran: “Do the disbelievers not see that the skies and the earth were one mass, and We tore them apart and We made from water every living thing?” (Quran21:30) “We constructed the sky with power, and We are expanding it”. (Quran51:47) Every Christian person and Bible calls The Creator Allah in The Middle East and “Jesus” was Middle Eastern. The name of prophet “Jesus” is mentioned in the Quran 35 times, Prophet Moses 136 times, but the name of Prophet Muhammad is mentioned only 4 times. Every Christian person and Bible calls The Creator “Allah “in The Middle East and beyond and “Jesus” was a Middle Eastern man. Maryam; the mother of “Jesus” is the only female name in the holy Quran. “Jesus” is like Adam, he was created without a father and he was a prophet who received revelation from Allah. There are only 25 names of prophets known to mankind since Adam until the end of time. Prophet “Jesus” and Prophet Muhammad are the last 2. If God and Jesus are father and son, then they are either two gods or two men! The Bible also says this about Jesus: Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you. . (Acts 2:22) (Nazareth is a city in The Middle East). The Bible also says these are the words of Jesus “while on the cross”: “About three o’clock, Jesus shouted with a mighty voice in Aramaic,“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”-that is, “My God, My God, why have you turned your back on me? “ (Mark 15:34)

Let me tell you something. So I was born from Christian and Cree Native parents but raised by a Muslim father's family. But Also Christian foster parents who actually were very good Christians. Anyways very complicated upbringing. But mostly raised with Islam. Now I grew up with Quran and prayers more or less (not admitting how much I need to improve in that department). But my point is one day, I was remembering my foster mother (inalillah...) and she used to make me recite the Christian prayer before sleep. The one that goes, "Now I lay me down to sleep.....". So that night and this was a few years ago. That night I had the scariest nightmare ever. It still gives me the shivers when I think about it. I wont repeat the nightmare but it really scared me. Never again will I ever recite Christian words of any kind at anytime. Islam is the right way. I wasn't trying to believe in Christianity or anything I wanted to see if I remembered that prayer it was just a test of memory. Sometimes we think something is jsut an innocent act but be careful you never know what opens a door for bad stuff.
