Question for you: did you convert the 24V series/parallel system to pure 12V or are you still running the original starter? My understanding is that nearly all JDM (HDJ-81s) have the dual battery (24V) starter system. If you didn't switch it, then what are you accessories running? Did you have to wire in some sort of step-down transformer for the headlights and other systems that start on ignition, or is this pre-wired into the OEM system? I ask because I'm looking at buying an HDJ-81 but don't want to be stuck with a complicated 24V system that requires things like headlights to be 24V rated and for which starter-related items will be nearly impossible to find these days. Thanks!
@CruisingTheLand Жыл бұрын
Everything in the 24v HDJ81s is 12v except the starter. That's my understanding. I will be driving this Diesel tomorrow and actually going into local shop to help with Roof Rack install amd drawer system. I will double check. I will ask about the older 12valve HDJs too.

importing just began for 100s, so limits you to a 1998. Would look for rear locker then. The best is 2006-07 with the vvti 275hp. Then the 2003-2005 With dash upgrades... If you can get a 100 diesel then that's a whole other story, as we never got Diesel Land Cruisers in the US.
