Hi amigo why do you call your channel The Black Experience when your skin colour is brown like chocolate, also your ethnicity isn't a colour. I checked this nonsense with my fellow african american people. It seems the and caribbeans both got this post slavery mentality. To except false labels on them from the gringo aka european light skin peoples. I'm mexican and african. I find it highly offensive when so many african/caribbeans call themselves black people when they are clearly various shades of brown with black hair. They are parrotting what former colonists labbelled them. I get mad at native americans calling themselves indians, also my vato cousins calling each other wetbacks.

I'm a Japanese living in Kanagawa. The only reason why people look at Ibaraki the way it is is literally only because its massively country land and farms despite being next to Tokyo. People just like to make fun of it for that reason, nothing disrespectful lol. I went to Ibaraki a couple times for the all-you-can-eat strawberry, cherry, and grape farms there in the summer. Loved it. The locals are the chillest, nicest people. Would definitely recommend if you like those vibes.

If Reiko spoke for Ibaraki then it would most definitely be the MOST attractive prefecture! She has such an attractive personality. Which you don't see much in Tokyo. People in these places are much friendlier and in a genuine way instead of the customer service type of niceness I experienced in bigger cities. Even older people would come and talk to me voluntarily. I cannot speak Japanese and if I could, I would have had even better experiences imo

02:36 the reason why they say to not use cars is because people try to run away from tsunamis by going away from the ocean with the car through the highways, but you are much safer more quickly by simply walking up any hill. technically a car is of course faster to get to a hill to walk to, but there might be immense traffic during a tsunami event

As a Jamaican, no matter where you go on this planet, no matter how remote. When you mention Jamaica, everyone knows of Bob Marley (Reggae), and Usain Bolt. People tend to be more friendly towards you when they learn you are from Jamaica, because as often been said to me, "Jamaica causes no problems. Jamaica has never bombed or invaded any other country." Also, no matter how remote the place, you are guaranteed to "buck-up" pon another Jamaican.

And, 玲子さん turns out to be a chill, sweet surfer-girl, all tan and prone to start dancing any time to her favorite music? I'm sold! I hope you'll pack up your family, rent a board and go back there to show us more Ibaraki adventures! I have only been to Japan once, but I'm studying my 日本語 as fast as I can manage and can hardly wait for my next trip. Ibaraki has been added to my personal bucket list. Regarding tsunami risk, point taken, but Tokyo has 18 rivers within its borders, all of which will flow backwards with seawater during a massive tsunami, so is not exactly safe, either. At least, in Ibaraki, there are only a few small buildings between. you and safer high ground, right? Thanks for another great video. I'm a new subscriber as of today.

Correct, I live in Ibaraki and it’s close enough that you can visit Tokyo but…. It’s always good to return to the open spaces and natural beauty of Ibaraki. Great beaches, coastline and lakes. Awesome views of the mountains lots of classic Japanese architecture. Friendly people. Oh yeah and excellent food

One of the best parts of living in Japan is the friendliness of people, especially in the countryside. I live in Tokyo but spend a lot of time in Oita in Kyushu. Ask anyone there for help or directions and you’ll get the same reaction, smiles, friendliness and help. Japanese are generally quite reserved but as soon as you break the ice with a smile or a question they’re incredibly warm people in my experience.

I lived in ibaraki for a few months because of work and it was one of the cooler places in japan that i spent time in. It gives off that vibe is taking it easy and slow compared to the bigger hustle and bustle places. Really love that place and its people

People are by far the biggest factor to form an impression of a place. Even though Ibaraki doesn't offer many tourist attractions, a single nice person can make you fall in love with it.

I've been living in Japan for over 13 years now, most people "make fun" of Ibaraki as it's just farmland with no heavy cultural locations, especially in that area (Compared with Tochigi, Gunma, Chiba, etc). With that said though, Tsukuba Science City is based there as well all of those crazy robotics labs and JAXA. So for science lovers, it's actually really cool. The coasts are also beautiful, it's just chill rural vibes.

Wow, Ibaraki, especially the coastline you visited, reminds me so much of home. Same with Reiko-san, she totally has our vibe! Definitely will visit if I ever have the chance. The tsunami and earthquakes do worry me a little bit, I mean, we have the same here, being on the same Pacific plate, but nowhere near as intense as Japan. Thank you for sharing this with us :)

With all due respect, the prefecture's official name is "Ibaraki 茨城", not "Ibaragi 茨木" which is a city in Osaka. I know because I'm from there as well. I get that some people are still confused about the pronunciation, but let me definitively clarify it on this opportunity.

Ranzo, these videos always restore my faith in humanity. Such a beautiful place. Nothing like living by the sea. I feel like they'd love Rieko in Jamaica. But as an English born Jamaican myself, I get why she's scared, and I'm a man 🤣 She'd be fine in a holiday resort though.

The answer to why, in an earthquake and possible subsequent tsunami, escape on foot and not by car is to avoid creating traffic chaos when unchecked, hundreds of cars blocking possible escape routes. Many roads in Japan are quite narrow, and these roads should be left open to rescue workers in a dangerous situation. The evacuation routes are easier to reach on foot and do not have the space to accommodate additional cars.
