Just returned to Dallas from Pisgah Forest. Did the same route you described!! What a trail!! Not sure I'll be back again but this trail was everything you described. Too technical for me is a couple places after being tired from the climb but that's what feet are for.

It can be absolutely brutal but it sure is fun. It's about as raw and "forest-y" as a trail can get

Awesome, love those trails! Going to ride that route in a few weeks!

I love that route but each time I ride it feels longer than the last. Still really fun

Nice riding! I love how it's just the sound of the wind, the bike, the birds and your occasional comment... Also love the open, how the bike lands on the beats-nice editing!

I am coming to Pisgah Forest from Dallas TX in May 2023 for my wife's aunt's 100th birthday. She wants to go ride for her hundredth 😉 so where might this trail be located?

Cool trails dude! I'm willing to concede theres a bit of a go pro effect... but as someone from Colorado I can't understand how that "Double Black" is a Double... let alone a black... I could see with how steep it is and having those 3 or 4 decent drops it could be classified as a black, but for the most part it looked just like a gnarly blue. I'd say the second one you went on looked definitely like a black with how many rocks it had.

I just put what Trailforks or the trail signs rate them. But I think I agree that all of these could probably be blues. There weren’t any double blacks unless I made a mistake in the video. I’d say for the most part though, you’d rather the trails be “overrated” than “underrated” to avoid people getting in over their heads. I think it’s possibly all relative in a sense though… Colorado likely just has some super gnarly stuff compared to the Southeast? What do you think?

This trail used to be a true black, but the old trail was decommissioned due to erosion and a new trail, the one in this video, was built last year. I'm guessing the rating hasn't been updated, but yeah this one isn't a black anymore. Still fun!

Pisgah trails are rated by distance. OG black was blue until erosion got it.

@@chriskhare1735 By distance??? I've never heard of such a thing. That doesn't make sense! So a trail that has a couple 5-10' drops but is only 1000' long would be a green??
@chriskhare17352 жыл бұрын
Yep ,doesn't make sense at all but that's how it is.
