For the last part of the song, male voice sings "do not look back at me next life" and female voice sings "please look back at me next life." Bajie can't have a good ending to love story(he's cursed to suffer 1000 heartbreaks one way or another; so him acting like a pervert isn't just in his nature, but also his defense mechanism - can't suffer heartbreak if he drove everyone away with his behavior) and the girl just wants to be with him no matter what, probably in every reincarnation. This is also why he kept turning away from the spiders, he couldn't go against the fate decided by the heavens(even wukong couldn't, and he's no wukong) so he could only run away for his personal matters. He was obssessed with the most beautiful godness in chinese mythology- Chang E. In the book of journey to the west, the little piggy was punished because he got drunk and teasing Chang E. But in the game version he was punished or exiled because he saw Chang E was dating Jade emperor. Be careful, in chinese mythology the love between gods or between gods and human are forbidden. This law is actually set by Jade emperor himself. Then the piggy got exiled and become mortal again, but accidently hes soul pocessed into a pig and that make him half human and half pig. I think Chinese netizens shared the full story really well. Initially he was one of the deities in the heavenly realm but fell in love with Chang E. In his pursuit of her, he bumped into one of her followers who fell in love with him... eventually he found out that Chang E was in a relationship with the Heavenly Emperor who eventually banished him into the human world for harrassing Chang E. Eventually she understood that and when WuKong scattered across 6 places, she took in one piece of him hoping Piggy would return to see her one last time. This is despite knowing that likely that would mean her demise when they next meet. Piggy does not want to acknowledge them because he sees how the Bull King and his family met their ruin because he defied the heavens. So despite his own longing, he held back for the Spider and his daughter. That scene where he looked up, was holding back his tears and the spider never blamed him... they both knew this was for their daughter... Truly heart wrenching story writing

At the end of chapter 4, you can see Pigsy turned around and walked away from his 5 spider daughters. There is actually a reason behinde that. Back to the animation, Pigsy saw the Moon Godess with someone, that guu must have a high position in the Celestial court, and because Pigsy caught them red-handed, he exiled Pigsy to the human world. That unknown guy is the enemy, if he finds out Pigsy has relatives, the daughter will be in danger.

I'm trying to correct some information here: - Bajie was a General in Celestial Palace. - He liked the Moon Lady, and chased after her. - One maid loved Bajie at the first sign. - Moon Lady had forbidden love with 1 high-ranking god. - High-ranking god cursed and banished Bajie to the mortal world to remove witness. - The maid followed Bajie to the mortal world. However, the words "Pig" and "Spider" have the same pronunciation in Chinese. - So The maid was transformed into a spider. Bajie was transformed into a pig because of mispronouncing. - They only realized others when Bajie was helping Tang monk go west to find sutras. That was the only time they met in the mortal world, not as other people's explanation in the comment section. After that time, they had 1 child. - Bajie always chased after girls because he was dumb, he confused one girl with another. So the maid never changes her hairstyle just for Bajie to realize her when they meet. - Bajie left the girl twice, the first time when he went west to find sutras. Basically, Bajie (the pig) used to an admiral of the heaven who was in charge of the river of heaven, who was punished for being obsessed with Chang’E (the girl with white hair) by Jade Emperor, who exiled him to the mortal realm and made him a pig guai. Then Bajie went on the journey with the gang and arrived the Webbed Hollow (location in Chapter 4), where they met a bunch of spider guai (who were also once celestial being like Bajie, hence why you see Bajie bumped into that girl early in the cutscene) . Simply put, the gang wiped the cave but Bajie was sympathetic and didn’t kill the youngest one (of course they also had some entanglement), who was the Violet Spider. The story from the game can be pretty much caught on from there.

I love how they used that montage of pictures of Violet Spider and Bajie to show how different two of them’s mindsets changed. Violet Spider started from normal and slowly became twisted and obsessed because how their love never ended well in each reincarnation. Bajie slowly recovered from being banished and turned back to normal.

Because while searching for Piggy, someone told her that he had turned into a "piece of pig" during the exile. The phrase I quoted, "piece of pig," sounds exactly like the word for "spider" in Chinese, leading the girl to believe she could transform into the same creature as him. "他变成了只猪", so "她也选择变成蜘蛛". The "Chang'e" you mentioned is actually "Taiyin star lord", overlord of the Moon. 0:15 She has that distinct look. "Chang'e" is a title for all the girls working under lord Taiyin. The girl that Pippy bumped into is the Spider girl when she still worked as Chang'e under the Moon Lord. The last bit about the homophone gag is just a joke made up by the fans. Don't treat it as a design/plot of the story.

This animation is an antecedent of the relationship between the old spider lady and Bajie in the game, and should be understood in 3 parts. Part 1: Bajie, a simpleton commander of the celestial palace fell into unilateral love for the Goddess of the Moon. In his blind pursuit, he accidentally pumped into a maid, who fell in love for Bajie. But Bajie did not know about it. In his pursuit for love, he accidentally found out that the Goddess of Moon was dating the celestial emperor. The celestial emperor, to punish Bajie, banished him to earth and turned him into a boar demon. Part 2: Bajie found himself in a cloth making factory, where he met a human beauty. He went through the hung clothes (symbolizing obstacles) to pursuit that lady, who also liked Bajie. But when Bajie went through all obstacles to reach that lady, he could not help but revealed his boar demon state (just like a werewolf involuntarily revealing itself under the full moon) and it scared the lady. So the pursuit of love by Bajie failed again. Part 3. Bajie joined Wukong and Sha Seng to escort their master to the West. On the way, Bajie saw a bunch of ladies taking a bath in a lake. Being a love-stricken boar, he turned himself into a fish to take a peep. Those ladies were in fact spider demons. One of them was the maid which was ran into by Bajie in the celestial court mentioned in Part 1. As she had fell in love with Bajie, which is forbidden in the celestial court, she was also banished to earth and turned into a spider demon by the celestial emperor. When she saw the fish, she immediately recognized it as Bajie. When Bajie revealed his state as a boar demon, she also revealed herself in spider form and informed Bajie the reason why she was there. They fell in love and copulated. As the other spider demons tried to harm the master, they were defeated by Wukong and Bajie. However, Bajie spared the life of the spider lady and, sadly, went on to the western journey leaving the spider lady behind because he knew that their love affairs would attract the wrath of the celestial emperor if revealed. In this game, the spider lady had actually waited for Bajie for hundreds of years as she grew old. When Bajie arrived, she tried to keep Bajie there by threatening to kill him if he did not comply. But Bajie refused. And it was then that the spider lady showed Bajie that they had a daughter. At the end of this episode, the spider lady was fatally wounded. Bajie however knew that he had to deny his relationship with the spider lady and his daughter to protect the daughter from being exterminated as the relationship given to her birth was in breach of the celestial rules. That explains why Bajie was holding back his tears when he turned away from the dying spider lady and his daughter, and at the same time the spider lady called out "You are just as stupid" before she died, knowing that Bajie, in making all the hurtful denials, was trying to protect their daughter.
