I disagree that MW23's campaign is worse than MW22's. At least MW23 HAD consequences. Makarov has gas, is out there, and Soap is dead. MW22 had: -Las Almas - Ignored -Shadow Company Betrayal - Retconned -Grave's Death - Retconned -Shepard - Went nowhere -AQ (Hassan/Gibroni/the rest of the entire army) - Taken care of or ignored -Los Vaqueros - Ignored -Laswell's Kidnapping - Went nowhere Now, yes, MW23 has its fair share of plot points that went nowhere, but you could skip MW22 and understand at least 99% of MW23. The side eye Gaz gives Graves is all you'd miss out on.

I enjoy mw23's pacing more, but reflecting on the story over the past few months has made me dislike it more. It isn't the worst cod campaign imo, it's just ok, but has soooo much missed potential. I'd love to get my video out on the mw rebooted series campaigns someday, it's mostly written out, but I've just been caught up in all the cod news and big projects lol Mwii, yes, also was a pretty steep downgrade from mw19. I'd just say mw23 is a little worse as it feels like a seasonal cutscene expansion... To name some things wrong with mw23's similar to 22's: - Price inhaling gas goes nowhere(both short term and long term) - Makarov's story is shoehorned in where it doesn't impact anything(4 years ago in Verdansk... yet he wasn't in mw19...) - Ivan was brought in during mw22's shadow siege event where we bombed Dome in Al Mazrah. Yet in mw23 he's killed off immediately for just not quite escaping the prison Makarov would escape it... - There's no way the airplane attack would work as a framing device when they have video camera proof Makarov(a terrorist of Verdansk) boarded that plane... - Milena should be dead(like the rest of the soldiers on her island resort) or arrested as she was funding a terrorist organization... like... I feel like leaving her behind was really weird... - Nolan being captured is retconned in the s1 cutscene where he's escaped without a real explanation... also rehashing the plot where Valeria escaped during mwii... - Makarov is just messing around randomly. He doesn't seem to actually have a goal other than to cause terrorism because he's bad... Why Verdansk? What's his deal with Shepherd? - Shepherd was captured randomly(on stream I assumed he was giving Makarov information but really, that was only a guess... it wasn't explained at all) I think if we get an mw4, you could probably skip mw23 as well. All you need to say is Makarov, a new terrorist is on the loose causing terrorism... Soap was not important in the new mw trilogy too... tbh idk why he exists because Gaz was his replacement in the reboot. Gaz was the new recruit and Price's pride and joy. Also is it just me or is this bo6 campaign with Alder and Woods etc being hunted by their own government just the same story as the og mw2 and new mwii? Tf141 vs Shepherd + Shadows

​@@MattsukiAbout Nolan, I'm pretty sure none of the new season cinematics have any significant plot to them, and serve more as like an overall trailer for the in-season cosmetics. Unlike in WZ1 or WZ2, WZ3 has no story (unfortunate) so Nolan being "out" as shown in the cinematic is inconsequential.

Anyway I just hope this game has a good balance of cosmetics kinda like how Cold War did (Cold War had the battle passes full of mostly “milsim” style skins and skins that fit the BO universe while the store bundles were more of the wacky-ish skins, I feel like that’s a good way to do it)

But hey, since Treyarch (23:36) really want to give this game an identity and maintain it, we should definitely go hard in their replies asking for a cosmetic filter to actually maintain that identity they said they'd try keeping. Been telling my cousin the same thing, hope it’s more like Cold War than mw2 or mw3, guns on both feel like vanguard guns and play like vanguard, and mw3 was Deffo a dlc of mw2, this black ops won’t be the worst we’ve gotten but it’s not gonna be better than Cold War for sure

I mean Black Ops games are usually pretty good even Black Ops 4 wasn't that bad. But I do miss the days of World at War where they made the game actually historically accurate and the game felt gritty and real you could tell they poured their hearts and souls into World at War even in the zombies mode you could feel the passion. Now it's a goofy ahh brain rot cartoony ass game with stuff like the Fallout skins, music artists, super heroes, an Evil Dead reference, and the yee haw man from the Walking dead. I hate what the game became I miss the fun arcade shooter days not this Battlefield/Rainbow Six wannabe crap.

That I agree with, on a gameplay level I think most black ops games do a great job. I also miss the grittieness and focus on war that they've been neglecting recently... That cosmetics filter is on the top of my list now because things have gotten so out of hand with visuals. Like it does affect gameplay too, you wonder "oh what bundle did that purple molotov fire come from" when it's seen in game... feels like I'm playing an advertisement that's trying to get the wrong audience to buy it. I don't even mind buying stuff but I won't buy anything if I can't enjoy the theme of the game itself.

MW Reboot series's is f**king terrible it absolutely ruined the franchise stripped it of it's identity and made it completely unrecognizable. People complain about silly skin's when it doesn't have an identity to begin with. Nostliga bait is all it's been since 2018 and non of these game's play or feel like the old one's. It's no shock that the marketing is bullsbullsh*t it's soulless nonsense. This franchise has been done for the best part of 11 year's it just hasn't been the same since. gaming got way too mainstream and corporate and today's AAA gaming reflects this.

I agree Triple A gaming became too corporate and yeah the new mw trilogy doesn't stand a finger over the og trilogy(as a whole). Campaign stuff is so garbage now, they aren't telling a story anymore, it's just "so this happens, then this happens, then this happens" like a seasonal cutscene... @@Mattsuki The new MW trilogy ,Vanguard and BOCW don't hold a candle to anything before it in genral they're all collectively the worst Call Of Duty game's of all time every single one it isn't even Call Of Duty they lack a proper identity. The originals was recognisable yes they had identity you could tell the difference between each game and they all stuck to their respective theme's. I agree that the collab skin's don't help modern cod but without them it still has the same issue. souless rehashes of previous charters is just as stupid and random operator's that don't fit thematically are just as bad. the originals had random soldier's but they fit each map on MP it was way more impressive and Zombie's had proper fleshed out crew's that once again fit the themes of their respective map's. it's strange that there's operators and custom skin's to begin with because it's a first person game so you don't even see the entire model for most of the time anyway. the company behind COD are just far too greedy for it to ever truly be good again and there's too many people who are ignorant to it or don't care so it's going to keep been like this for the unforeseeable future.

I am going to assume this video was made in good faith as I would like to address some of the points in this video. My credentials are I've been playing cod for 15 years, reached top 10k in cods like Cold War and have gone for mastery camos and zombies easter eggs multiple times and finished most campaigns. I wanna start by addressing your early on claim of "what proof do we have that bo6 is good if there is no multiplayer gameplay yet?" The proof is treyarchs track record. I do agree that it's important to set realistic expectations for ourselves especially without real gameplay but how can you say there is no proof when treyarch has literally never missed once with a cod. What was the best cod in the last 5 years? It certainly wasn't any modern warfare title. No, it was cold war, a treyarch game. And before that, bo4 and before that bo3 the best cod ever, etc. I have full faith in treyarch as they have never let me down once since I played the original WaW which is why I will be buying the vault edition. Which brings me to my next point, why do you hate the blackcell bundle and skins? I've always found this argument to be so dumb. Cod has never been "immersive" in the way you describe it, which I'm assuming means realistic. Cod is literally a game where you can 1080 no scope somebody with a colored sniper rifle across the map and it's been that way since like cod 4 days lol, it's never been realistic. I enjoy the skins and bundles as they add flair to the game especially the boring grey scale garbage that infinity ward puts out. Treyarch does a wonderful job of making colorful and pleasant looking games but that's getting off topic. Another thing is advertising. You seem to recognize call of duty has a strong marketing team. Yes that is true, marketing is a crucial point to keeping a game relevant and boosting sales there's nothing wrong with that. Every game from the era that call of duty began in is dead now, besides grand theft auto. what separated these 2 from the rest? marketing. Ofc good gameplay as well but I'm not sure why you're getting mad at the marketing of the game when it's literally a huge reason the game stays afloat even through terrible releases like vanguard and mw2. I agree that mw2 was a scam and a disaster of a launch and games like that do make people lose hope for the game and have a pessimistic point of view. But i think a lot of people agree with me when i say we have a lot of faith in Treyarch, the og company that has never failed us with multiplayer and zombies. That doesn't mean their games are without fault but they listen to the community. One thing is also want to mention briefly is leakers. Like most things online and especially on twitter, taking cod leakers seriously is just a recipe for disaster. For any game really, you should take any leaks with a grain of salt unless they're made by the studio themselves. The cod community is really bad with this kind of thing especially content creators that just want a click bait title. Also you saying that bo6 oesn't really have 4 years of dev time is based on leaks... which you just said not to trust lol so you're contradicting yourself. I fully believe they had 4 years of quality dev time for bo6, iirc the only other thing they did was the shitty vanguard zombies. The portion of the video where you discuss the mw2 and mw3 poor launch maps and such i think is exclusively an infinity ward thing (yes ik sledgehammer made mw3 technically but they were forced to by activision they were working on AW2 and had much less time, and they did MUCH better than infinity ward ever could) because I never see these issues with treyarch games. I'm excited for the 12 completely original maps plus 4 completely original 2v2 maps, idk why you scoff at that, that is impressive and what the standard should be honestly. i much prefer that to rereleased maps and I think that's a fair number of maps for launch because i'm sure more will come after. Again towards the end of the video where you show choppers video, a guy who literally has seen behind the scenes of this game and talked to devs, you're doubting his statements because you don't like skin bundles? Like that makes no sense, what is a "real" black ops in your eyes then? do you literally just want them to remake black ops 2 or something I'm confused. Which by the way, that game also had animated non realistic skins you could buy for a dollar each. And bo3 had that as well along with skins and even loot boxes (which i'm glad have been replaced for the battle pass system). You also mention how you believe that black ops 6 will have content cut out of it to save for bo7. Again, you're taking a leak too seriously here we have 0 clue for sure if bo7 will even be the cod next year. But even if it is that doesn't mean we will miss out on content per say, at least not in the way we did with mw2 and mw3. I do agree with your worries that maybe they might withhold maps or weapons especially for zombies which is often neglected these days but honestly again, treyarchs track record is pretty damn solid and I am hopeful they will give us 2 complete games if the leaks of bo7 being after this is correct. i know they can do it because sledgehammer literally made mw3 in like 16 months while they were working on AW2 according to leaks and it ended up being miles better than the trash that infinity ward put out after 3 years of development. if the 4 year time line really is 2 years for bo6 and 2 years for bo7 I'm still not really worried as I know treyarch can manage. One thing i will add is I wish cods only came out every 2-3 years instead of every year, especially a game like bo6 which if it lives up to the hype will be incredible. Carry over not being transfered over to bo6 is a massive shame I will agree with you there, although my best guess has to do with treyarchs much different game engine they probably couldn't do it honestly. I know that sounds like a cop out response but genuinely the game engine treyarch uses is so much different than the crap infinity ward uses, that's why their games feel and look so much better to play and trying to transfer stuff that was made for the other engine probably is very difficult or not possible. again that's just my best guess from details I've seen. Lastly, I doubt cod will go on sale for black friday, that only happened with like IW/MWR and vanguard because it sold awfully. it usually doesn't get a price drop till christmas time from what I recall though i could be wrong on that. In the past I've found myself having opinions based on completely false judgments or assumptions but making videos has helped me debunk even my own thought process at times lol And also don't be discouraged when you first start! He is 100% used as marketing for mw3, go look up the Makarov trailer that was released before mwiii launched. It was solely there to tell us Makarov is so dangerous that he's in the Gulag. (It's the teaser where he's getting walked into his cell and you see all his tattoos) I think you've also proved my point... "if Makarov was replaced it would have been even worse" that's exactly what I said at 5:48 ... This new Makarov holds no candle towards the og Makarov, that's why I say his purpose was to market the game.

I don't see how MW23 having more content is a bad thing? I see it as a positive. With everyone on the same engine, the devs can make more content faster, and we don't regress 3 years every game. I doubt there will be as many cut corners as you think there will be. The zombies mode will already be made, MP will probably be similar, if not the exact same, and SHG needed to remake every map from the ground up AND make Urzikstan, while 3arc will have a decent amount of maps from BOCW to pull from, and they're reusing Verdansk, so...

25:48 this is why it matters. If you liked mwii more than mwiii like I did, you would see this as an issue. If s1 and s2 of mwii were REALLY BAD content wise to you, that should be an issue... I'm saying sabotaging 1 game to sell what is essentially dlc the 2nd year is not a good thing, especially at the $70usd price tag(not a dlc price) instead of something closer to a zombies chronicles price tag that is actually building upon one game, not restarting. And since they won’t need to remake the gunsmith, or movement, or camo system, or whatever Warzone requires, they’ll be able to make more content in less time without needing to focus on the pointless stuff…
