@@RoRZoro possibly, but even Shuri said that it had custom parts, so it would've taken much more time to do that as opposed to getting Riri to build another one. I even posted a comment referring to how Tony Stark built the miniature arc reactor and how the other scientists weren't able to replicate it due to the simple fact that they aren't Tony Stark. Maybe it's just as simple as that..only she can build the machine? Who knows, it's comic book reasons anyway. Have a good day!

I completely understand the point being made, but Riri isn't just highly intelligent. She's meant to be above and beyond intelligent so there is a scenario where they can't just replicate her tech because of fail safe's that she put in there. Scientist do it all the time, there is actually an official term for it in the scientific field but my mind is blanking on it. Meaning even if they took her tech apart that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be able to easily replicate it, if at all. So yes, Riri as the creator remains a danger. And even if the US already replicated it she could still be used and manipulated by other countries who are also looking for Vibranum. It made sense that she was a threat to Talocan and a person who needed protecting by Wakanda. That said, I was also confused as to why only Shuri & Okoye went to collect Riri. I know they were trying to be covert but Shuri is a princess, shouldn't she have much better protection?

8:00 They stated in the movie that they didn't want another fight in Wakanda. The Wakandan ships were damaging the city, firing on Namor and his forces. Fighting away from Wakanda was the best bet, AND drying Namor out was the best option. It's a solid plan. [edit] They barely had time to prepare for the fight; building a new "barge" isn't an option. Remember, Namor and his army have superhuman strength. This isn't a "Wakanda with prep-time" debate. They needed more time to test Tlalocan strength levels and create barges that withstand Namor but didn't have it. They went with what they had and made some adjustments, but... that's it. I'm sure going forward, Wakandan defenses will be Namor-proof. And I bet they mention it in the MCU.

Maybe the reason he went after Riri is because until her machine found the vibranium in the ocean the CIA wouldn’t even know if the machine actually works. It doesn’t make sense to spend potentially millions to replicate it before then, so it would make sense to go after the “scientist” after seeing her prototype works.

I mean that’s kinda the point. I doubt he dislikes these films, but basically PM’s whole gimmick is to go outta their way to search for plot holes & logic gaps, no matter if the film is a dumpster fire or a masterpiece. When it comes to the latter, it’s mostly just for fun & not meant to be taken as serious criticism towards the quality of these movies. I find them hilarious & it shouldn’t take away from your enjoyment of the movie unless you allow it to. It’s honestly not worth getting worked up over or rolling your eyes at, js. 🤷‍♂️

Ryan is fantastic, but I honestly felt like this was one of his weaker ones recently. That’s okay though, still some great moments and some great critiques of the plot! I will say.. as far as Namor going after Riri, I felt like he was just needing justification to go after people. Like, he just wanted to “burn the word,” and that was part of it. It was actually going to escalate to a bigger confrontation, but Namor used her invention as justification to start it on a smaller scale.

Omw to see the movie again rn, really liked it but it certainly does have his logical short comings. I’ll say the main one really for me would be the final fight, I feel like the wakandans could have brought more ships on autopilot like shuri used to do with cars planes etc and have a bunch of those sonic weapons in the water and to minimize casualties by having the ships be mainly automated. I also feel like the wakandans could have just waited a week for namor and friends return and just had the fight there ? Maybe I’m missing why they couldn’t have waited them out but I do also think shuri made these rash aggressive decisions as she was under killmongers influence still just wanting to go for the kill and avenge her family “ handle business”, regardless still really liked the film just always fun to overthink these things

I agree with the first half of what you said. They're a bigger army, you don't want to wait for them to come to you and flood your home again like they did the first time round. They'll turn it into a home advantage anyways since the river will still be there and you can't fight in the Jabari location (Mbaku's) because that's where the civilains are based and probably the same for the other locations. They went out to sea before Namor was fully ready to attack so it seems to me he didn't take his full army (otherwise that's a pretty small army) or had a set strategy, just arrogance/confidence they'd win in the water relatively easily. It wasn't smart to have just 1 ship with the sonic weapon though. Get as many of those things as possible lined everywhere on multiply ships if possible. And give everyone those sonic weapons like Nakia had.

This might make me a cult of one. But I found the final battle between Shuri and Namor erotic as hell. Not since David O. Selznick released Duel in the Sun (1946) have I seen such lust in the desert. Must I explain the symbolism when Namor impaled Shuri with that spear? And then she pulled it out without so much as a drop of blood! I thought: "Well. . . It looks like this wasn't your first impalement -- was it, My Dear?"

So, is vibranium radioactive or something? Is it giving off particles, or photons? Those are your only two choices if you're going to detect something at a distance, you have to have a thing to detect. You can detect uranium and plutonium because they give off alpha and beta particles, which are detectable (though not for very far). Photons are detectable much further, millions of light years even, but are easily obscured by other photons, so that's not a really good long range detection scheme unless you are detecting through a relatively empty environment, like space. On a planet? No hope for either of those to be long range detectable. And yet somehow an unbelievably arrogant teenager who is somehow "brilliant" but also ignorant (needs calc 101) managed to invent a vibranium detector, wihtout a lab, or vibranium to test on? wtf. Why are these stories so stupid?

It I couldn’t see the movie really any other way except for them starting the movie a few years after the kings death , but they handled it right it’s hard to make a movie when the lead passes ect but namora was incredible the pacing was off but the 2nd half was very good and emotional and I loved the final battle
