Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! We hope you enjoyed this visit to the very quiet Black Rock Park. For more history on the Buchanan Dam and Lake Buchanan, photos of the park, and suggestions on places to visit in the area, visit our website: rvamericayall.com/rv-resorts/black-rock-park-texas .

Prime spot for the eclipse, hopefully you already have reservations! There and everywhere else is booked solid . Nice campground. We will be not far from there in couple of weeks.

You pronounce Lake Buchanan the same way I do. It's been awhile since we've been out to that area and Black Rock Park has been on our radar. Thanks for the review.

How fun, you stayed at our lake, we live right across the lake from Black Rock. Wish I would have known, I would have bought you dinner. We have a number of great restaurants in Kingsland. Glad you had fun in our beautiful hill country. Love your videos and the way you teach us about the places you visit.

@@rvamericayall if you are ever back here, my wife Susie and I would love to meet you guys. Hoping to run into you somewhere, but it will be a year or two before we start doing a lot of traveling. I have a company that builds control panels. Can give you a tour if you are back in the area. Working on getting retired, so we can travel....a lot!😀
@fformer10 ай бұрын
Oh, just realized, me offering to take you on a tour of my business might scare you off because you might think I'm just looking for publicity. Not the case at all, we have so much business I don't need any publicity. You don't even have to bring your cameras. Seriously, we just think you guys are very cool and down to earth, and would be fun to hang with. Not every one gets to see control panels get built and I know you like to see new things. So, hope I didn't scare you off!

You didn’t scare us off, I just saw your 2 follow up comments! If we get back in the Area, if you still have the business we would love a tour! Thanks!!!

Your review of Black Rock Park piqued my curiosity and I decided to research it. I looked and didn't find any information on RV size limits. Using the reservation system, I looked for dates with RV spaces that could accommodate our 43' motorhome. No matter which dates I picked, there were none. I then decided to check for available sites for a 20' RV, and VOILA' ! - there were sites available! It's frustrating when these places can't be bothered to provide such necessary information on their facilities. Note for owners of RVs 43' or longer: Reservation system won't accept your RV.

We scouted that park in our TOAD car while spending a few nights in Llanno, in September a couple of years ago, and it looked just as empty when we were there. One thing we were surprised by in Llano is they had a surprisingly good Italian restaurant in one of the downtown buildings.
@rvamericayall10 ай бұрын

It’s been a while since we’ve been there. Looks like they have done some improvements around the park. We too find those small hole-in-wall places tend to be the hidden gems of eateries.

Your comment about stopping to get cash before going to Alfredo's brings up a newbie question. How much cash should you carry when full/most time RVing? We had planned on keeping a "cash stash" in the RV in case we ran into an emergency and couldn't use a credit/debit card or went to a place that was cash only. Do others keep a cash stash and if so approximately how much?
@rvamericayall10 ай бұрын
Yes, we now usually keep a little cash on us now and most of our FT friends do as well!

Wow, cash only! I am seeing so many places charging 3-1/2 percent if you use credit car, then they say they will not take $50 or $100 bills! So if we travel with $20 bills or less, or if I count out 99 dollar's in penny's, will they call the police on me? Just saying that I thought all of our US Currency was acceptable to everyone in at least the USA! Can yo imagine going on a winter vacation for a month and finding out your USA CASH $50 or $100 bills are not accepted! The treasury Dept needs to step into this, because I am not paying 3.5% of my withdraw at a ATM for a Fee to get cash to my own money in travel!
@rvamericayall10 ай бұрын
Yep, it’s really crazy but some places charge a cc fee now! 😞
