Dio always sounds good, because he was a god damn professional, I read that he wouldn't do drugs, drink, or speak all day before a performance, that's dedication and professionalism..and it shows, he's always on it!!

He drank a beer before each performance (according to some smoked a joint) and I remember Tony said he didn't really do anything to warm up he just had a beer then went a killed it.

He did sound amazing the vast majority of his career. That last tour with Heaven & Hell he had lost quite a bit though, whether be age or the cancer. He was struggling.

Never!! Dio has produced much more music, has an incredible clean voice, more power, more stage presence. Listen to the version of mistreated from Rainbow live in 1977 where Dio crushes Coverdale´s performance.

Lol, Coverdale's voice was shot since 1974...Glenn Hughes was Purple's singer for me.. Dio lasted a lot more.

@@panoschr8723 Its not shot , its the same growl technique Dio use, but more rough in howlin wolf and soul screamer style. And as opposite to thoses guys, David is a verdi Baritone. So his basic tone is a shit load lower than thoses guys. But hit similar notes
