In this Warhammer 40k game Mubin builds a 1,000 point list to expand on the beautifully painted Thousand Sons combat patrol we just received from Art-W Studio. To meet the psykers on the battlefield is the fanatical Black Templar looking to destroy the witch. Tak is expanding on the Black Templar Combat Patrol in this Warhammer 40k game.

It’s actually not that useful vs TS. FNP vs all their dev wounds shenanigans is more useful. You can always spend a CP to put a unit you need in Abhor to hurt things that need it, because Anti-Psyker 4+ doesn’t buy you that much most of the time.

I love the idea of being able to run three detachments of if I so choose, I like the cavalry/ air support the ravenwing bring, the ground and pound of the deathwing? I think, but yeah have you guys seen any like cool DA painting schemes?

@deejillini2680 I personally don't know many of their styles, but there is a plethora of youtubers who paint DA, even though there painting is proffesional level, it might jelp give you an idea of a color scheme? I personally love their dark green or black and red schemes. Idk the significants of the colors just that they look awesome lol

this game feels like game 2 at my last RTT. My IK vs GK, and by nature of the dice, forcing targets with move/charge blocking, and other just plain craziness, I had 2 out of 3 big knights and 2 out of 4 armigers left on 1 wound, and only lost 1 armiger.

Loved seeing the Black Templars in action! Just a really quick note, I know it's a small detail but Crusaders cannot naturally advance and charge, they can re-roll advance and charges. However, if Grimaldus is with them, then they can advance and charge / fall back and charge. Great report Play On!

This was a rough matchup for the Sons, but a great game anyway. Would love to see a game under Deathwatch’s rules for Space Marines… I think their units are horribly overpriced but on a good SM generic army they look quite strong particularly the Double Oath and being able to Deep strike either Gravis or my favorite the Company Heroes squad which are very difficult to shift. (Also the Judiciar with some Bladeguard with the Thief enhancement is insanely powerful)

Idea: what if you did a progression of a combat patrol into a full army. Like what an army would look like growing from a combat patrol to a full fledged 2000 point.

It looks like the mission rule card or the voice over for it was incorrect. Hidden Supplies adds a sixth objective marker in no man’s land and pushes the center objective towards a no man’s land corner if possible. Secret Intel matches what the voice over said to draw a third secondary then discard one.

Building my first army rn, got the black Templar box set and I’m stoked. Gonna get the Leviathan box next and then grab a grimaldus. Anyone have recommendations for next buys? I think I want an impulsor but I already have two Ballistus’ through my boxes and some good deep strike capabilities out of the leviathan box. So maybe I want more sword brethren since the box only comes with one? I feel like my black templars are oddly melee light but I’m trying to build an army for less than $1 million.

Where can I find the rule for Righteous Zeal? Also in 10th are BT still allowed to reroll charges? I wasn’t seeing that on the data sheets and trying get my rules memorized 😅

Righteous Zeal is an ability for Primaris Crusader Squads. This is the ability to reroll Advance and Charge rolls. Black Templar do not have an army wide ability to reroll charges in 10th.

The production quality is insane. But TechGuy if you read this, it would be soooooo helpful to add some sort of "line" into the Animations/Overlay to see in what type of Phase the players are and what phase comes next/was previously. I am still so confused by this game.

actually with how little AP-2 I had overall in my army the 6+ FNP was actually more useful vs the 4+ invul and most of his melee was wounding on 3's or better anyways. Those feel no pains did work

@MubinTalati a lot of it had to do with the poor rolling with twist of fate as well. It doesn't remove invulns so to have the 4+ invuln against witch fire psychic would have been strong for the crusader squads or impulsor. Not so much for the flamers, but like you said ap-1 was the more prevalent with the framers and Combi-bolter

We don't always play it with the bottom floor windows blocked nor use GW standardized terrain layouts. Sorry for the confusion. We will try and make that clearer in future games

Is it true the Crusader Squad can Advance and Charge in the same turn? Righteous Zeal just says you can reroll Advance and Charge rolls, but I'm not sure.

The advance and charge came from choosing that buff with the Grimaldus character attached to them. Sorry this wasn't clearer in the video. Tak chose it during the command phase.
