It's also worth noting that during the stinger, Yelena has the dog she always wanted as well as clearly been able to buy her own clothes. Her outfit? A yellow plaid coat and a belly-out sweater. An obvious nod to "Clueless" that was released in 1995....the year the opening of the film takes place and the last time Yelena felt normal. She likes fashion but doesn't know much about it, hence her backdated style.

Well red room agents are trained to blend in. We saw training ballet and even watching Cartoons so they'll be able to pretend to have had an normal childhood if needed. So her wearing weird ass clothes at the end is more her showing her weird sense of fashion, and being free from the need to blend in like a spy at all times. I mean this would all have landed a lot better if all the red room agents in the movie weren't wearing god damn comic book costumes in broad daylight. Black Widow went with that look because she wasn't trying to be covert; the agents trying to snipe the girl at the start should have been wearing plain clothes.

I didn't think Red Guardian was making his stories up. (if memory serves) He didn't ask Nat what Cap is like, but rather asked her if he ever mentioned him. I took this to mean that he fought a different Captain America, maybe Isaiah Bradley or someone else. If this film was to come out before FaTWS it would have worked as foreshadowing.

Aside from Steve Rogers' adventures out of time, other people who have officially assumed the mantle in the main continuity in the comics that haven't yet in the MCU include Jeffrey Mace, William Burnside, Bob Russo, Roscoe Simons, Scar Turpin, Clint Barton, Bucky Barnes, and David Rickford. As is in the MCU we've now seen Steve Rogers, John Walker, and Sam Wilson as public Captain Americas and Isiah Bradley as a secret one. It's absolutely possible there were additional covert Captain Americas if they're not going to retcon a more public one who was around to fight the Red Guardian in the '80s.

Yeah I don't see it like that. I think he's just arrogant enough to believe the whole world knows who he is and what he's about. He was probably big in Russia but nowhere else. Also with Alexi believing himself to be the only other super soldier, then he would be sure that Cap knows about him and considers him a threat.

@@fivestatedrive that's not how conventional time tavel works, though. They went to great lengths to explain that to us in End Game. Unless Steve randomly joins the TVA and discovers a way to jump between time lines at will, I highly doubt he fought the actual Steve Rogers.

@@MrJakePaddy if he had just said that in the Prison I might have agreed with you but his comment with Natasha made me think he was being honest with her. As is he was honest with everything else with his “family.” If this had been released when originally intended before Falcon and the Winter Solider I think it would have then recontextualized his claim when they got to the Isiah Bradley storyline since it confirmed they were using Captain America without Steve Rogers even before they found him in the ice.

JYM, so glad you mentioned the red serum. The red “serum” that is driving Draykov to pursue Natasha is a major plot point no one is talking about. It seems to break “mind control” or could be causing the mind control used in the widow program. Could this be related to Scarlet Witch? What if this stuff was somehow extracted or collected from Wanda when HYDRA was experimenting on her.

I thought this as well. This is a spy movie, as few as we have, told thru the eyes of Marvel's MCU and one of its most beloved characters. It had emotion, character development, many action sequences very well done. On the contrary, it didnt have a love interest, sex scenes or out of character romance. It had comedy! and well put as well. It really was a great experience. I must say that even if it doesnt expand on the universe, it really didnt have to. It was a well told story, didnt prepare the land for Infinity War, or Falcon and the WS, but it somehow feels directly inside the MCU, like it is in its very heart.

Fr caught me off guard. Initially thought Natasha had done a less blunt method of “severing the nerve” beforehand and was acting like she was affected by it when she couldn’t kill Drakov just so she could get more information and time. But when she just proceeded to slam her schnoz on the table and I was like “huh.” Plus the movie was pretty gritty by Marvel’s standards, so the pheromone thing was kinda odd but apart from that, it was a pretty damn good movie.

I wonder how it will be for Yelena. That I mean is what’s a head of her, I mean she will eventually fight aliens or something else to the point where it’s another Tuesday kinda. I also wonder on how Hawkeye will react since not even he himself seemed to know about Natasha’s family. So now someone that says she’s the (adoptive) sister of his best friend, wow. I also wonder how we will get introduced to Kate Bishop, like what will make it that she meets Clint and decides to become his trainee? And what will make Clint agree to come out from retirement (AGAIN)? And the last thing is that I’m worried that all future marvel movies will be bad and it will eventually be like family guy or the Simpsons where the old version was better. The only hope that the MCU is safe to continue is that these future movies will be good and the series. That reminds me, which series do you think/calculate come first? Hawkeye or Ms. Marvel?

When Alexi talks about Captain America, he says "Does he ever mention me?" Implying that he has met and interacted with Captain America. What if, in the MCU, while Steve was in the deep freeze, Patriot was acting as a clandestine/Top Secret Cap in Spy/SHIELD circles. If so, then Alexi could have fought a Captain America and not realize it was a different guy in the suit? Alexi is not really that smart and he's been in prison for a very long time. As recently, with Falcon & the Winter Soldier, we have just found out that there was a secret Captain America of color. he never said that, but it's heavily implied it is not anymore, because as far as of today in multiple series and movies (including Black Widow) events that would mean differently by the inclusion of AoS timeline are no longer mentioned, i.e. in Loki episode 1 Mobius shows to Loki the murder of Phil Coulson, and Loki himself remarks that action by saying that nothing matters for a dead man, and Mobius doesn't correct him about Coulson's being revived shortly after (in TVA times flows differently so everything already happened) Disney just swept the dust under the carpet, pretending it just didn't happened. This would of course fuck up a lot of past things, including Age of Ultron [the attack on Struker's castle for retreiving the scepter started with a tip from Shield in episode 2x20, among other things]

@@NekoHibaCosplay Nothing has implied the shows are no longer canon. At best, they’ve ignored them, but you could say the same about the One-Shots and no one calls their canonicity into question. Even the Mobius example you give; he doesn’t correct Loki, but he doesn’t confirm either. Whether Coulson was brought back to life later has no bearing on that scene, so it’s not mentioned. Agent Carter at the very least is canon, as evidenced by Endgame and Black Widow, and it has references to some of the other shows. I could point to some other times the other Marvel Studios stuff has arguably referenced the shows as well.

Actually wrong about when we first see Taskmaster… So the footage of Taskmaster watching Natasha fight in Iron Man 2 was from a trailer of Black Widow. Marvel took the actual scene of her standing in that room and changed the footage he was watching to Nat from Iron Man 2 just for the trailers. The actual footage in the movie where we first see Taskmaster is her standing in that room but the footage she was watching was of Black Panther and Hawkeye fighting from Civil War.
