Blackbeard, to minimise bubbles forming on the silicon mould, I modify a very small 12v motor (uneven weight attached to spindle) and then clamp it to the side of the formwork box. This effectively agitates and vents the bubbles out through the top. Especially also useful for fine detailed formes. Playing with catalyst ratios will also slow the cure (and, I think, increase shore strength) allowing more time for bubbles to vent. Probably not important in this case but useful method all the same. Thanks again for your wishes, hoping the same in return.

I worked in the aircraft industry with honeycomb structures for 3 years. Recommendation (see 3:38) - such aluminum honeycombs can be easily cut with a sharp knife. Just hold the blade at a 45 degree angle and cut through with short, quick strokes.

BBP is such a nice guy, like he really tries his best to document everything he does so that we may replicate it, very rare to find this amount of dedication to the simpler things other cahnnels would just see as a waste of time.

The manner in which you are not scared to build anything you want to is very refreshing and you totally deserve every single subscriber.

When playing with the honeycomb and the two-toned spray paint, try a black resin backing, and something more to refract the color, like a large silver or white glitter, it might show the color better, and maybe even be a little opalescent!

Try transparent inks and multiple transparent/opaque layers to produce 3D effects. Use silicone oil/different density pigments to produce layered colours where the bottom layer colours push up through the top layer colours producing some amazing effects. Put down a layer and carve a design into it, then use a contrasting layer and some sanding to bring out the carving before completing with a layer or two of transparent/clear. Use the rubber mold and a 3d printer(or carving) to produce resin shapes that you can integrate into a design. Mix and match all the above.
@AussyOutlaw4 жыл бұрын
Man these are dope! Nice job sir!

The red/white sprayed set looked like it came out well and with less opaque resin mix would show the contrast better. Maybe just gloss black sprayed on one rt degree angle so the other way is aluminum

It just works better! I did some testing a while back and I'm not the only one that came to this conclusion. But I still degass resin with vacuum after mixing, check video description.
