Not only he created the awesome hatchet, but genuinely explained how he got the hammer and its not his original idea, such humility. I wouldnt know, i dont watch many such channels. There is no limit to this guys knowledge and creativity. From Forging to casting, leather works to wood works, painting to polishing, hammering to soldering, welding to woodturning to etc etc... i dont even know the number of terms he is expert in. Hats off!

Are ball peen hammers high carbon? I was going to forge weld a piece of 1080 into mine so it would hold an edge, but you heat treated that so I guess they are already high carbon.
@sperber-knives5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, must be highcarbon steel
@jacobbowen25635 жыл бұрын
@@sperber-knives what did you heat treat it with? And what temp for the temper?
@sperber-knives5 жыл бұрын
@@jacobbowen2563 You need a heat that is so great that the steel is no longer magnetic. (I guess about 850C °) I would temper after the temper colors. (about 200-300 C °) it always depends on the steel, it is best if you know which steel it is, then you can read the temperatures.
@krknfmkr89195 жыл бұрын
@@jacobbowen2563 do you know the spark test? The more the sparks "star" or branch off the higher the carbon. Works for most carbon steels, not so we'll with alloys
