Very important when reassembling to take notice of the motherboard going down the tabs at the bottom. Realized that was the problem my phone was not connecting to the carrier, no signal, antenna with x. After looking at various videos this one (@7:32) showed the tabs which I neglected. Thanks guys... Maybe others with no signal can check this connection if they have the same problem

@ArmenianPower09 Keep in mind, there are several versions of the LCD. Reference the back of the display and make sure you order the correct one. Other than that, there could be a board level issue.

thank you for this guide. i had the white screen plus wierd colours IFFF it worked. i disasambled the screen, cleaned it up and seems to work fine without replaceing it for a new screen. thank you very much from holland.

@rijsberman I'm sorry that this happened. Unfortunately, buying via ebay is often risky. Not all parts of the same fit are actually of the same quality. Try to see if you are able to send the screen back and get a refund. If you decide to buy from PhoneDoctors, we include a 180 day warranty on all parts and tools in our DIY kits.

i read somewhere online (i think this is for any version of bold) to follow these steps: - make a hard reboot (holding ALT + right SHIRT + DEL) - once the red light off - open the SD card slot and remove the card - the system autoboot and the white screen desepears alternatively, removing the battery and leaving it out for about half an hour will work too

you make a 2 min job look harder than it is, i did this with a newbie guide off youtube and it only took me 2 mins.

did you mean the gold tabs? If so the gold tab is the housing the LCD sits inside of. you have to slide the LCD into the gold housing, then bend the gold tabs down to secure the LCD. Did I answer your question?

To be honest with you, then only time I see a white screen on blackberry LCDs, is usually when it needs to be replaced, But theres always that small chance that it is slightly unplugged. The only way really to tell is taking the device apart, unplug the LCD flex, and plug it back it and see if it turns on. If it it still turns white, I think its time for a new LCD. FYI if you have the phone apart, make sure and write down the LCD version thats located on the back of the LCD, for ordering purpose

Thanks for helping! I repaired my screen and it worked! :) Just a question though - since I repaired it, the device has no sound (like ringtones etc.). I call and hear people, but the alarm clock (e.g) doesnt work. You know why?

check the connections on the lcd cables, sometimes the little things tht connect could be cracked and you would have to soder them back together

Hello there, could you give me some imput on what i should do? I sat on my blackberry and my screen became white with an impact point of where it received most pressure. After a while it's now completely white and I am just curious whether replacing a screen will help me at all thanks

@dhamby1 I don't want to say it's "impossible" but not advised. Typically you will find that trying to separate the two will almost 100% of the time net in breaking the display.

if i could get some help on this i'd be very thankfully.... i mounted a working lcd on a 8520 (wich lcd wasn't turning on, so i think its damaged) ... so when i mount the working lcd and turn on the device, i get this white screen after the red led load cycle... i've tried the right corner + p press, the loader from app loader and still nothing... another thing that would help on diagnose.... this 8520 is having some issues while conectting with loader or desktop manager... hope getting help ;)

the first line..next to the 5 digit number..there should be a 3 digit number...but I was wrong though..because on my phone it said 001, then after I took it apart the number on th eback of the LCD screen was 004..so you have to take it apart in order to know

what happen if you use the wrong lcd???I got 2 bold's.A black one with a broken Lcd and a white one with water damage and cause of that i couldn't scroll anymore.So what i thought was===>Taking the lcd of the white one and put it on to the black one but the lcd light up when i put in the battery but it stay white.a white light is what he give me :( I heard in the video something bout 2 kinds of lcd's is that maybe the problem???That i used the 002 version or are the connects aint good??

Yes your LCD number is 002. I don't think they are the same, but I may be wrong.

for me to get it connected to the desktop software i need to play with restarting the desktop software, reconnecting the device, or playing with the ''recovery'' option that pops up (keep clicking on retry until it dissappears and magically conects to the desktop software)...

So I replaced the screen with a new one and whenever I start it up it's completely white and I wait for a while and press unlock and everything appears. It's also kinda of blue and I have the brightness on 0 and I can still see everything. Is that bad?

you have to compare the code on the backside the new lcd with the old one.. i think there are 4 codes : 001/111 002/111 003/111 004/111 if they are different, you have the problem of the white screen

If u hv a whit screen open up blackberry desktop and connect ur device then update or repair ur phone and it should clear ur phone and start working I did it on my 8520 took me 10 mins

4:55 Why don't you use a heat gun? If LCD is broken the heat won't matter for it but adhesive tape.

You dont need a T5 screwdriver. A "normal" one (1.2mm) was perfect for that.
