It was probably done by choice, if you type an a full desktop keyboard you'll notice the space-bar makes a slightly different sound to normal keys probably because it's longer and bigger that the other keys so it will sound different by design.

Erica Griffin probably as to my eyes the KeyOne has glossy keys which would muffle the sound verses the KeyTwo has more conventional laptop style keys. Thats just my opinion though.

Braillynn Rodriguez The KEYone has the same weird sounding space bar. Tested both KEYone and KeyTwo on none of them is coming even close to keyboard quality of the BlackBerry Classic. We have couple of KEYone's in our company and none of the keyboards behave the same. Some keyboards have a nice space bar but making squeaky noises when pressing the "R" or the "E" other have a "noisy" space bar but don't do the squeaky sound... What I don't understand is why it is so hard for BlackBerry Mobile to put the keyboard of the Classic into a modern device... should not be that hard.

Thanks Erica. Good start. Please rate the phone quality and ability to receive / send calls. Also rate speaker quality. Finally check to see if they fixed the annoying issue where selecting new text messages in Hub brings you to old message strings from the same user and not the new one, forcing you to go back to the hub home screen. The spacebar always had a different tone. Think about it when you are typing on your computer or laptop. The spacebar always had a different noise to it.

Hope you like it. Typed on my keyone that I won't be upgrading in a hurry. Wish the key two didn't have a capacitive row, also wish it was water resistant and had at least the sound of the passport se (should really be a sound upgrade by now). Will definitely snap one up if my keyone dies though.

Something I'd like to hear about is audio performance. Not expecting mind blowing results but read that the keyone was very lackluster in both wired headset performance and Bluetooth streaming. I'd appreciate it if this is something you could look out for!

Erica grea video! Really respect your work in this industry. Here are some questions/points I'd love to see answered in your full review: 1. Generous portrait mode examples on people from both front facing and rear cameras 2. How easy is it for camera to detect and create a portrait shot(ie. Samsung and apple you have to line up and follow instructions to shoot portraits while with pixel 2 it's point and shoot. 3. Could you please show multitasking(including split screen) in real time? 4. Is this phone reliable in terms of a lag/stutter free experience? Ie shortcut key working fast with little delay, sliding and scrolling through content 5. Can onscreen virtual navigation buttons be removed? 6. Can this phone work with Verizon?

Dear Erica, Aluminum 7000 series have higher density than 6000 series, ergo - is more heavier. The lighter weight of Key2 is not because of aluminum 7000 used in it. More interesting for me will be behavior of the phone after few months of use. Will it slow down as Key1 or not. I suppose is related to software issue with encryption of all data, but i can be wrong. Cheers! Have a great weekend!

As fa r as I'm aware - it is on software level. It is expensive, because of development and support of such high encryption software solution. If they solve the problem, I'll consider to buy one.

Thanks for the video Ms. Griffin! I really appreciate the design on both phones. Thank goodness there is a noticeable difference between this phone and other "Clone" android phones. I like the flat edges of the Key2; rounded edges are slippery even if they feel good in the hand. The "clicky" keyboard is a feature, not a drawback. I'm in my 40's and I like clicky, loud keyboards. What I don't like about the phone is the 4.5 inch screen and the 600 series processor. They could have gone with the Snapdragon 820 or 821 if they wanted to save costs. These processors perform similarly to the 835. The screen could go all the way to the keyboard - capacitive buttons on this phone aren't necessary. The keyboard can handle those functions. Overall I am impressed. Thinking about the Key2 for my next phone.

As much as the KEY2 is a business phone through and through, I'd love to see what Nintendo DS emulation looks like with DraStic; the 3:2 aspect ratio screen should perfectly fit the two DS screens when held in portrait mode and the physical keyboard should hopefully be mappable to the buttons which otherwise take up a lot of screen real estate and can be fiddly to use.

Hmm don't have many good questions. I just wonder what's the battery life like under heavy usage. Theirs allot of things I wished. Like having it be cheaper. Things I'd like to know: Battery life (3.5 Ah is a good start), wireless charging, fast charge, ruggedness (scratch/dust/water/drop), screen clarity. I hope that's the same back grip BB used back in the day. I always felt confident it wasn't going to slip out of my hand. That's why I won't buy a glass back phone or an uncovered metal one.

Whenever I hear rubbery finish on electronics, alarms go off. Laptops in the early 2000s came with various rubbery finish and they all dissolve in a messy ugly stinking pile of goo. The rubber, not the rest of the laptop. :p I like how this phone looks and that it has a physical keyboard. I have a Sony Xperia Aqua M4 for a few years now and I wish it had something like that. I like the extra clicking noise on the spacebar. It should allow for a more fluid touch typing (all things considered) Add an analogue joystick and we are off. :) What's video recording like, options etc?

I love the slider phone but even I have to admit it's time for a newer device what with all these apps taking up more and more power and resources.
