Just got one of these set up in my Freightliner, and the only thing I'm not liking is the mount for it... the stand is pretty much static, so I can't mount the base and then turn the screen up or to the left to face me more. In some vehicles, finding a surface that is within good eye view, but also large and flat, can be difficult.

It's actually not too bad. I will say though I'm 6'2" so I can see over it easily it may be a problem for someone shorter statured

Just want to remind everyone to check their dashcam footage every so often to ensure it's recording correctly. I recently noticed that my dashcam hasn't been recording for almost a year. It turns out that there is a tiny battery coin cell on the dashcam circuit board which went dead, so every video file recorded started with the same date filename, and just kept overwriting the same file . I soldered in a new battery so its clock is now keeping time and recording properly. Don't assume that if the rec light is blinking that it's actually saving all the footage.

That's nuts. Usually they should beep or warn you! I myself check the micro SD card ever few weeks ro make sure it's recording

Great review. The SmartDrive has some cool features, but do you find it hinders visibility?

Getting a smart drive or a dashcam for your vehicle can prevent you from having an accident and proves that you didn’t cause the accident.

Interesting product, but with my MINI, between the ginormous rear-view mirror and smallish windshield, I wouldn't be able to see anything else in front of me 🙄. Pretty good value though for $200
