It low keys annoys me when people say destiny child sang the theme song, basically excluding Solange. I always correct them and say “No, it’s SOLANGE featuring Destiny’s Child” 😁. She’s the reason why Proud family had one of the best kid theme songs along with “That’s so Raven”.

@@material-cheshirekhatter2413 The Cheetah Girls first came out in 03 I believe, so I’m assuming Solange was in her mid-late teens at that time. Cheetah Girls is based on the book series by Deborah Gregory. I was just watching an interview with the actual author and she said Solange declined the role of Aqua because she didn’t want to be apart of an ensemble because she wanted to launch her solo career. Solange is an incredible singer, songwriter, producer, and actress. She never let the demands of the industry allow her to sacrifice her individuality just so they can prop her up just as “Beyoncé’s little sister”. From the time I heard her sophomore album “Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams” I KNEW she was the one. True EP was just phenomenal. A Seat At The table was an instant hit and one of the best albums released last decade. When I Get Home is exhilarating. I can’t wait for her next album.

Solange in the 2000s (for me, I'm a 96 baby) was just everything for me. I remember when I got braids similar to hers it just completed me. I actually didn't know she was Beyonce's sister for a minute. I'm glad she's getting the hype and love she deserves. She's a whole vibe.

She would have slayed as Aqua. I get the choice of the album over a lil TV movie, but the optics are giving Victoria justice solo tour vibes...

Yes to this video! I’ve been listening to Solange ever since she released her first album. She’s nothing like her sister and I’ve always appreciated her art and how she displays it! Such a true talent and she does deserve her credit!

She is very talented and I’ve been a fan of her music since Solo Star. But let’s be honest here, she was afforded a lot of her opportunities in her teen years from proximity to Beyoncé and management from her father Matthew Knowles. And then her career flourished in adulthood because of uniqueness and in somewhat alternative track to her sister. I say this as a super fan of her music. Hadley Street Dreams is a masterpiece and so was True

ngl this might sound silly but I always knew her as solange b4 beyonces sister. I was so young watching her on Johnson’s family vacation and would always think “she looks just like Beyoncé”…not knowing they were siblings until I was older😭😭
