If the customer is happy with the cost it doesnt make any difference what the the rest of us think. My brother is a cabinet maker and im suprised sometimes at the sost of projects. A $46,000 dollar countertop in that house with all the extras doesn't suprise me. Beautiful job.

@@BlackForestWoodCo while watching ur videos, i was thinking of a table design and was hoping u could build it in your next project or video, can u build a table and inside the table put a wood shape like a tree and use green color epoxy for the tree leafs colors.. .can you please try to do that... I hope u understand the table design idea.. for example.. its like painting a tree or curving a tree on the table and coloring the tree..

Really nice work!!! Can't say enough about how good your craftsmanship is. You can't control what will happen with a counter top. The old veneer tops could easily be nicked or gouged and they don't patch well. Solid is the only way to go. It will develop some character over the years but that will only add to it's beauty. I can visualize the beer bottle sliding down counter top now!!

I completely disagree with comments talking about the "inferior" craftsmanship of the old countertop. The old countertop was likely done at a fraction of the cost of the new one, and the use of inferior materials actually makes the finished look of the product even more difficult to achieve. I totally understand the desire to upgrade, but I am still quite impressed with what the previous guy was able to achieve with the materials he used

Tite bond 3 is Foodsafe and tite bond 2 is not, so 3 is the correct one to use on a kitchen counter anyway. I know it’s not a cutting board but you have a good reason there to use 3. It’s not overkill

Something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay ... to me the price is nuts, but I'm not the customer, as long as they are happy that's all that matters ... have a look at prices of art (paintings) if you want truly obscene prices!! I care about the skill and craftsmanship which goes into a project ... this is, as usual, of the highest standard and is absolutely stunning 👍

I really like how the wood looked in the kitchen. I liked the vanity. I did not like how that wallpaper looked. That was just plain ugly. The vanity looked out of place. It just didn't match. Even with the counter top in the kitchen, It kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. Please tell me they are going to repaint the walls. The wood they chose is absolutely beautiful. I just hope they can hire a interior decorator. to get everything to match up. It was great seeing Charlie. Question: Do any of the products you used on these countertops okay to apply to a cutting board or charcuterie board? Thanks for another great video.

I think "worth it" is really subjective. To me? absolutely not. For the client and your business? Absolutely. Lots of people like to hate and say you're way overcharging, but forgetting about the cost of those slabs alone, and the great team you guys have, among many other reasons. I keep hearing from other woodworkers that, "nobody appreciates custom work anymore," well this is proof that this isn't true. The truth is that most people just don't have the extra money anymore to spend on custom work, and you really need to stand out in today's market. Make yourself different; exceptional.

The price probably sounds high to a lot of people because you can get the "same" items made from lesser materials and construction techniques for a much lower price. And if that's the market you are used to the higher price can be unreal, seem unreasonable and basically be upsetting. On the other hand it's worth it.
