Nice shave. You aren't lying about making sure the lather is hydrated. That's something I have been struggling with. Sometimes my lather is great and other times it dries. In my last shave, I got the lather looking super shiny like you have yours. I've been wet shave for two years now and I'm still learning new things.

I was going to buy a lancaster towel until the shipping was as much as the towel, HA HA. I have a personal aversion to paying a lot for shipping. I was one of the folks that had no love for Stirling until I started working in way more hydration into the lather. I don't lather the same as you do but just watching you adding water helped. Stirling is now one of my favourite soaps.

yes sir my kind of shave . i really enjoy the sabre it’s a top quality razor that for me provides an excellent close comfortable shave 👍👍👍 can’t go wrong with a stirling soap and splash . i find there soaps hold a good amount of water and are very easy to get a great lather . and that one is definitely on my radar . hope you have an outstanding day brother 👌

Intrepid Man is a great scent! I didn't know that it was inspired by a Creed scent. They should put that in the description on the Stirling web site. I like to write the scent notes or the description of a scent on a piece on masking tape and stick it on the side of the tubs in the bare spot between the tub's side lable. If they are inspired by a fragrance I put that on there also. It definitely helps me remember what all these soaps are supposed to smell like lol! 😄👍 Have a good one! Steve

I've always wanted to try that razor since I'm a lover of old school single edge razors. A modern gem peaks my interest. I'm also interested in this Stirling Soap. I didn't know it was a creed dupe. A sample order is in order!

Hey Chris, I remember you did a comparison between three AC razors which helped me immensely to choose one, now I have a similar conundrum and I feel it would do for an interesting video; Clash of DE's with blade feel, Carbon CX, Timeless TI Slim, and Blackland Blackbird :D not interested on knowing which one is the best, but more to know what makes each of them great. It's similar in its rigidity I think. There's not a ton of blade choice though.

Wish I could use Stirling but the dang lanolin! Does First Line Delmar Blvd. smell similar to Irish Spring or Irish Tweed? Do you still think Saponificio Varesino Shaving Soap, 70th Anniversary is worth the price?

Delmar doesn't smell like tweed or Irish Spring to me. As to SV, I cannot say whether any soap is worth the price for someone else. I can say it's a very hard soap, so you'll get a lot of use from it. It would probably last a lot longer than most artisanal soaps.

Okay, Chris - I’d love some advice. I’ve never used a Gem-style razor before, but I’ve heard so many glowing reviews of the Sabre that I am seriously considering getting one. The big question I have for you is, if there were a titanium version of the Sabre, do you think the reduced weight would be more to your liking? I know that’s hard to say, but given your experience with Ti razors and the difference in feel btw DE and Gem blades, do you think a Ti version of the Sabre would be worth waiting for? Sorry to get deep, but as you say, best not to spend $$ frivolously, but rather wisely. Also, was the razor you used the machined or polished version? Thanks!

I think you'd be fine either way. If there was a Ti Sabre I'd certainly try it. I don't think Ti necessarily makes things better, it just gives a razor a different feel. It's mostly a weight thing. A possible option might be to try the SS version and if a Ti version comes out, sell the SS.
