Thank you very much for this explanation!

so I set this up as you explained. I have my main computer set to sync on proxies, and my remote editor syncing proxies and originals. I see his originals in the. cloud on the website, but his originals did not sync to me. I only received his proxies..

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation re: which machines are best set to "sync proxies only" and which need to be set to "sync originals and proxies". A bit counter-intuitive for me until seeing this video. I agree that enabling remote collaboration and having a robust option outside of Adobe ecosystem is a game changer. Feels like back in mid-2000s when I learned about Offline Editor / Online Editor except NOW we could have that ratio as something like 20:1 if enough collaborators needed. Thank you!

Thank you for this review. As a DR editor this article has really helped with ideas of involving clients during the revision period. Many Thanks again.

Great review, as like yourselves our entire production team are now all within the DaVinci Resolve workflow for delivery and we are looking at the offerings in the market for seamless cloud & collaboration features for internal remote freelances and our external customers.

Here's an actual pipe dream. Now that davinci has a cloud workflow, I would actually love to see a web based version of resolve. Kinda like those other cloud editing solutions you talked about. This web based version of resolve can connect to the existing cloud project you have, etc. One of the things I find limiting me quite a bit is accessing my editing device. I wish I could edit from anywhere on a non powerful laptop on a web browser. I think resolve can be a company to do this as well. They'd basically dominate the industry at that point

I don't think the media pool idea is a pipe dream. I've been thinking about the same thing since I learnt about strada

I would love if we could just rent studio anyways or even better lease it, pay 10% for 12 months and keep the software. For hobby use it's quite a chunk of money to drop at once for studio

Finance it using a credit card like Chase, and you will be able to pay over time

well it would be amazing if from editors side would work the proxy + originals. the problem is, that if i have it on proxy only, he has to change it to proxy + originals. but if he changes it, it's changing on my side too. so EVERY time both sides have to adjust the media settings. it should be an option where the Media settings from all the users are not synced and each can use the one that they need and won't have to check it everytime
@vp-landАй бұрын
I haven't had that experience - the settings are specific for each user for each project

@@vp-land i tried it with a test account of mine. Maybe the reason was becauseni used the same mac? Is the setting saved in the cloud project or in the davinci software itself?

I'm not sure but I would try on a different machine

Excellent review, thanks! I'm trying to determine how to connect a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K running v8.7 to a network for the purpose of connecting to Blackmagic Cloud. I've seen a bit on phone-tethering/hotspot but that's not what I want to do. Funny thing is when BPCC4k is connected to macOS via USB-C, the BPCC4k shows under System Settings/Network. In the Blackmagic Camera Setup v8.7 macOS app, there are network setting for network access I but haven't gotten it to work yet - you?

Thanks! I have less experience with the cameras but I just used a 6K Pro last week and I was able to log into the cloud by going to the media playback page and tapping the cloud icon in the top right corner

A little confused, if the station that has most of the original and a remote editor adds footage wouldn't the main computer have to switch to original sync in order for it to be downloaded from the cloud & wouldn't thins mean that all the original media will start to upload to the cloud as well? I have found presentation very limited and unreliable, has a long way to go to match FrameIO and Dropbox replay. What I still have issues with is the correct way to remove a cloud project and its media of the cloud, any Ideas, I have a number of cloud project where the project has been deleted, the local media is gone but still cant remove the media off the cloud, Is there a workflow/precedence in deleting

that's what I found as well.

I have a remote editor adding footage from his computer to the cloud project, and he's set to sync proxies and originals, but it's not downloading to my main render computer. Did you have to do anything else to get that working?
