Thanks for spending the time to do these tutorials Simon, they are very helpful for newbies. It surprises me that BlackMagic do not spend more time on tutorials themselves. It is amazing to see the power of the tool in action, however the reality is many of the models are far beyond most hobbyists abilities and without seeing the models and understanding how/why they are built in a particular way many are likely to stop investing the time that this tool demands. Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that Fusion can seem pretty daunting if it's not a type of workflow you are familiar with, but I can promise that once you get used to it you will really appreciate the speed and power that if offers you. If there are any specific areas that you would like to know more about, please let me know and I can either answer your questions or make a tutorial specific to those areas.

I am totally new, just finished this tutorial. I thought I would be hard since it was pretty intimidating after the free download at first but loved it, you explained so well, I just breezed through. You are a real Fusion "Rock Star". Two request...Can you create a more realistic tutorial on going about in Fusion and more on realistic Camera movements? Thanks again! I know it takes a lot of your time to create each tutorial so greatly appreciated.

Thankk for the feedback. Glad you're liking the tutorials. Could you explain a bit more what you mean by "more on realistic camera movements"? Thx.
@kevinl200820086 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Simon. I may not be using the right term, what I was trying to say was if you could make an in-depth tutorial on 3D camera /camera movements based on realistic scenarios.
@SimonUbsdell6 жыл бұрын
OK, I see what you mean. Perhaps have a look at my tutorial on the new 3D Camera Tracker for some ideas: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6O6p2qift6YkNE If that's still not what you mean perhaps you'd like to email me and we can talk more.

Excellent just to see what you can do in Fusion. Q: can you see from the NODE if it has keyframes and/or expressions applied as you can with NUKE? Is there a button to move between keyframes on the player head?

Thanks for this tutorial 🙏🏻. Man, going through your channel, it’s for sure, you are the Mastermind-Sensei of all of those tools like Fusion, Motion, etc... What is totally jaw dropping to me: all of this different programs come with a vast variety of tool set, combining them ends up in infinite results to be achieved, most of them probably not useful. Obviously, you have the talent to sort out the useful ones easily. Do you have any hints how to build up up rather quickly a knowledge base “which tool to be used to achieve the desired effect in the used piece of software” or is it just a matter of endless practicing and experience? As far as I know, there is no “University of 3D Tools Usage”, is it? 😄. However: I became your biggest fan within three days hanging throughout your channel - for that, I was expecting the breaking waves for the final of this animation (🙈, kidding you, I wished I had 10% of your knowledge).

this where you clearly know who went to public school and who went to private!! knowledge is not about showing only ''how'' but it is about showing ''why''!

Hi! Verry useful tutorial. But I have a question. Normaly there is some mist in the landscape but you still can see the sky. If you enter some 3dFog into your scene to simulate some mist, the skymap is always in the background and so you loose it. Do you have any idea how to set some mist into the scene without loosing the sky? Thank you.
@SimonUbsdell8 жыл бұрын
If you think about it, in the real world fog does always get denser the further away it is from the viewer, so you are asking for something a little bit unusual. However you could achieve it very simply by matting the sky back over the top of the scene using the foreground geometry to generate the matte. Or you could use a particle system to generate the foreground "dust" as you are calling it ... lots of different options depending on what exactly you are trying to achieve.

can we do something same like that with apple motion app 5.3 ! if possible then could you make a tutorial pls ! would to be thankful to you !

Sadly Motion doesn't have anything similar that would let you do 3D displacement which is the basis of this project - it would be great if it did though!

hello, thanks for the video..... but i have a problem! in the saver i haven't the Quick Time Movie option!!!!! what can i do? thanks
@SimonUbsdell8 жыл бұрын
+Niko Mozz You should have the QuickTime option, but in earlier version of the Fusion 8 Beta you'd get a blank output whenever you tried to use QuickTime with El Capitan. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of Fusion as it's continually being updated.

+Simon Ubsdell I have the Fusion 8 Beta 3 Free but I haven't Quick Time option! Maybe I have to change something in the options....... or I have to download a program? thanks for your help
@SimonUbsdell8 жыл бұрын
In the Saver controls, what options if any do you have under Output Format? Do you have any? QuickTime should be one of them. If it's not then try make sure you reinstall Fusion with the latest version - it changes all the time.

Hi, if using Windows you need to download Quick Time from Apple. It is no longer supported by Apple but seems to be the only way to generate .mov files out of Fusion.

+Lukas K Make sure the Seethe Rate of your Fast Noise tools is set to zero - anything else and you will have an animated texture which you don't want here. It might be that ...

Is this done with the free version of the software or do you need the pro version?
@SimonUbsdell7 жыл бұрын
Yes, this entirely possible with the free version.

Some great useful workflows, but the result is not photorealistic. You are probably better of projecting a mattepainting that is a photo composit on to geo.
@SimonUbsdell8 жыл бұрын
+Raymond Doetjes Yes, of course, it's not remotely photorealistic. This wasn't a recommendation for creating an actual scene - it was a tutorial to show some basic techniques to those who are unfamiliar with Fusion.
