I love the modern look coming out of the p6k when paired with this lens. Gives off an expensive look that otherwise can be seen through Cooke lenses and arri cams. I’m tired of seeing everyone trying to emulate vintage looks with blackmagic cameras as if that’s all they were made for. You’ve gained a subscriber.

amazing job! Looks phenomenal. I am looking to pick up either the 35 or the 50 1.4. I am rocking the DZO Film Vespids right now but a Milvus would be a nice additional for a cleaner look.

I thought I was the only crazy person that had this combination (+6k Pro). Plus an array of 30 tiffen diffusion filters. For this reason he used a Panaleica 8-18 (4k) that has the same diameter. Thanks for the video !

try the distagon 35mm f2 or the 28mm f2 distagon zeiss. It will be the best lenses you've ever played with before you go on to cooke or something.

@@bmefilms6879 some of the milvus lenses are rehash distagons. Milvus are nothing special. Same with otus. If you're counting sharpness; who cares.. sure, they might be sharper. But they lack in micro contrast and 3d rendition in which hands down, the distagons got them beat. Also, minus has shifty rubber focus rings. Rubber rots over time. A distagon being all metal will out live you if taken care of. Hell, my voigtlander color skopar lenses id take over the milvus lenses. My 58mm, 28mm and 90mm are saod to be comparative to Leica lenses from photographers whove owned both and many more. The worst lenses have to be the sigmas.. minus the 18-35 1.8 mainly for its function of us but still not its aesthetics. Sigmas produce sharp, flat non dimensional images. But that works for some people.

@@bmefilms6879 thats the respones i expected. As far as the recording. Its something I read when the lenses were coming out. To each their own. But Roger Deakins glowing about distagons isn't too bad.

@@bmefilms6879 Distagon is a lens design, not a Zeiss lineup. You can find Distagon design in many forms: Contarex , Contax, Classic, Otus , Milvus, ZM (Leica)... Some Milvus lens share same lens design as the Classics and even Contax (21 2.8). Classic lens that share design with Milvus lineup are the 15 2.8, 21 2.8, 35 2, 50 2 Makro, 100 2 Makro and the 135 2. One would want to go with the Classic lineup if you like more character, lens that share similar design with Contax (21 2.8, 25 2.8, 28 2, 35 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.4), don't need weather sealed lens and a lot cheaper. Even some used Otus lens are cheap (compared to the new price 5-6 years ago), but I find them to perfect for video work. Classic is not better than Milvus and that is the point, because we don't use them for photography. Milvus is nice, but have discontinued old lens designs like the 25 2.8, 28 2, 35 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.4, that are perfect for video (not so photography). That 25 2.8 design dates back from the 60s Contarex Distagon 2.8/25mm! Evolution is not always better in some terms.

I've thought about getting this camera. But then realized I'm a broke no budget filmmaker. Lol But I've always made due with what I have to work with. I'm fortunate enough to have a Canon 90D, 5D mark III, VIXIA R300 cheapo camcorder for some Behind the scenes video and my a used Canon Super 8mm film camera. That Black Magic camera is beautiful though

once you use milvus you are not coming back , i bought 50mm then i realised i need 25 too , but damn its so costly and other canon and samsyungs are not impressing me

some of the shots are gorgeous, some seemed over sharpened and a bit too much noise reduction. the milvus paired with the 6k or 6k pro is absolutely stunning!
