I discovered blackmill many years ago during a very sad time in life, here i am years later, older, wiser. Dealing with hard times and I come across this song. Makes me look back on life and realize although everything seems like a mess, life can be really beautiful if you let it. Don't dwell on negative stuff, get out and live people! Fall in love, fall out of love, have a great day, have a bad day, just love yourself and remember every second of this is a gift. Make it count

I struggled with addiction and severe depression for a long time. I would close my eyes while I listened to blackmill and imagine myself flying through the sky and mountains. It would make me feel so far away from my problems and just let me be “free” if that makes any sense. I got help with my depression and that helped me quit opiates. I’ve been sober for almost 4 years now. Thank you blackmill for helping everyone with your music in some way shape or form.

Used to listen to this constantly in high school - now I'm here again, working on my master's degree. My father died only two months ago, but this reminds me of when I'd be buried in books and look over to my left, seeing him sitting in his chair. It's bittersweet and peaceful at the same time. Time keeps flowing, and that's okay. I'm happy I'm back here.

I remember listening to this as a kid, maybe 7 years old. I’d ask my older brother to play it over and over again to fall asleep. he was kind and would smile and play it. I’ve turned 18 now, and life is very different. but this song reminds me of memories so close to my heart I barely have words to explain them. It makes me feel like a kid again, lying in my mommas bed looking out the window, thinking. I’ll always love this song and the place it held in my early life. Cheers, to our younger selves.

chillstep never really got the recognition it deserved . . . . . Edit, 2021: I made this comment in 2019, when the video only had like 100k views, which is ~8 years after its release in 2011. It has only received 99% of these views in the last ~2 years. These songs (and this genre) came shortly after the dubstep craze of 2011/2012 and was quickly forgotten with almost no recognition. Only recently has it actually has come into its own.

For those suffering from losses of a loved one, looking to this song for comfort, please don't feel sad. Rather than being in a slump, which no one blames you for in the slightest, celebrate the time they lived. There's too much sadness in this world. So, instead of feeling sadness, be happy and celebrate the memories you were able to create with someone you held dear. The memories you created with your loved ones are worth celebrating and if there is an afterlife, and they're watching over you, I'm sure it would bring them joy to know you are coping with their loss in a way that celebrates their existence and the time they spent with those they cared for. Pick your self up, smile for your lost loved ones, and be happy. This is the best thing you can do not only for you, but for your lost loved ones as well. Chins up friends 😁 and be proud of the fact that those you have lost chose to spend the time they had in life with you.

If you produce electronic music you realize this is a musical masterpiece, plain and simple.

Exactly what I thought. I was just trying to recreate something similiar because I wanted to play with this type of sound and I realized for the first time how complex but simple this is. What I especially like is that sound at 1:08. That short break, the two silky smooth notes and then the third one which arrives with such a lovely almost breath-like sounding sub bass. It's as if the sub bass was exhaling after a long stressful day.

This song is trance-like. I heard it a lot at the lowest point of my life and it weirdly takes me back hearing it now. I was in an altered state of mind, and this song almost takes me on like a trip (and I've never even tripped on drugs or anything before). It's weird but I can't stop re listening and like re-experiencing my mind set from back then. I'd never want to go back, and it's almost scary thinking about it but idk I just keep replaying it. Anyone else ever have a weird desire for nostalgia from a bad time in their life? Amazing piece of music.

I am afraid to comment on this song; it is so sacred, and I feel I cannot put into words how much this specific song means to me. The wallpaper, the scenery, I have stared at it for hours and hours. There is a heart shape in the mountain, at the very top. Seeing it reminds me of hope. I love the idea of looking up and seeing planets so close like that, and two of them. Nobody I have ever met knows about my connection with this song. It has been my own little private escape since 6th grade. During that time I hit a low, low point. Near ending myself. At the end of every school day I would put this on almost deafening volume and disassociate for hours, on loop, full screen, the room pitch dark. This screen was the only thing I could see, the only thing I wanted to see. My sobbing sessions felt good, and I felt that I was healing. This song had such an impact on me mentally. I could turn it up to a point where the screaming and shouting and crying (even my own when I threw fits about my suicidal stepdad) from my house could all be drowned out. My parents could be forgotten. School and bullying could be forgotten. My sister’s physical and sexual abuse could be forgotten. I could forget myself and everything around me until an outside force would interrupt my trance. Maybe near the song ending I would be able to hear my sister screaming about how she wants to die, and I would pause the video, choosing to return back to my life. It helped me cope, although people normally say disassociation is unhealthy. But in my opinion, it took me away from the violence for enough time to think clearly. This song is sacred. It has heard the voices and screams and cries of everyone in my household. It knows my pain. The words “let it come, and let it be” gave me a better perspective on life.

THUNDER CUNTS Just got a call a couple hours ago that my grandma has lost her 10 year battle with cancer. To hear my mom (who is the strongest woman I know) cry and knowing that I couldn't stop the hurt in her heart just destroys me. The only thing I could muster up was "I love you mom". 11 years ago I was just coming out a bitter, brutal divorce. It left me a broken shadow of the man I once was. I lost nearly everything I'd ever earned. One night, I'm sitting in the hole in the wall apartment I retreated to listening to DI.FM's chillstep station, and this song played. It hit me like a thousand blows..."let it come & let it be." There was no point lamenting on what happened. I'm still alive. I'm still able. I can make back all I lost tenfold. I will not be broken. 11 years later, I'm in an even better place now, making more money and in the best health of my life. Thank you for this timeless piece of music, Blackmill. And thank you for pulling me from the abyss back into the light.

Such a passionate dude full of life. He was hit and killed while riding his bike and driver fled the scene in August of 2012. Anniversary coming up. Tragic way to lose someone like him. I heard it again at a place I was eating just after his passing and the full treatment of this song hit me.
