As a Vietnamese, and I started knowing about Journey to the West from a very young age, even before I entered elementary school. Every summer, I would watch the 1986 film by director Yang Jie over and over again. I am certain that every boy who grew up with Journey to the West like I did, across East Asia, Southeast Asia, or in countries with cultures similar to China’s, has at least once in their life dreamed of becoming the Great Sage Equal to Heaven-Sun Wukong, to wreak havoc in Heaven. After nearly 30 years of waiting, the moment to touch this dream is finally approaching. Even though I’m now an adult, the excitement I feel is no less than when I was a boy. No matter how the game is rated in the future, for me, this will be one of the most incredible games I’ve ever experienced because it features Sun Wukong

This is the “往生咒” (Amitabha Sutra), a Buddhist chant used for guiding the deceased to liberation and the Western Pure Land. I remember back when I was 5 years old, I sat with my dad and sister every night just to watch Wukong on a box TV, it was memorable. With how rough the PS5 version is (at least right now, hopefully they can improve it) I can't imagine the struggle they are having getting it to run on Series S. Seriously, check out Digital Foundry's video on the PS5 version. I'd be quite upset if I was playing the game on PS5. PS5 has 3 modes. Performance, Quality, and Balance (yes balance not balanced). Performance mode looks horrible. It uses (abuses is really the proper term) FSR 3 frame generation and causes a LOT of ghosting, artificing etc. Because they are using frame generation to go from 30 FPS to 60 FPS! Which is not how frame generation (AMD or Nvidia) is meant to be used. And because so many frames are generated or "fake" frames it causes the responsiveness of the controls to feel awful. Balance mode for some weird reason is targeting 45 FPS which is beyond weird. Quality mode is ~30-38 FPS.
