The easiest way to distinguish when you travel to the moon orbiting Mars in Tag Der Toten. The rocks in the water change from being snow covered to a plain texture about halfway through swimming. I don’t know if anyone else has found this out yet but it’s a little subtle detail that Treyarch put in that gives a small indication that “yes you’ve just travelled through a wormhole and you’re looking at Mars”

An old theory about Shang is that tornado from the comic page loading screen was like a movie wormhole. It destroyed it after richtophen visited it and it transferred Shang to Mars. That might be my theory if there ain't one like it.

Something else you forgot to mention is that on moon's loading screen, one of the Shangri la temples is seen on the panel with Samantha's shadow over the moon just floating in the distance.

I wish they would have done something more with the vrill and time travel or something. Maybe back then mats was hit by element 115 meteors and the vrill that lived there and were overrun by zombies and that’s what caused the downfall of mars society back then but a small village (shangri la) was able to teleport to the nearest habitable planet and that ended up being earth only for it to also be hit by meteors far into the future. Or something like the shangri la was the first humans on earth but they accidentally brought the zombies with them.

Right at the end of 2010 when I started playing zombies I was listening to these theories wile was a kid and was believing in them and loving it to the bits. the years passed, I grew up and stopped believing because of how much reusage there is on gamefiles, cause i started to look at them (literally all of them hahaha) but after BO3, studying it after the new shang i thought that could be it, got interested in the theory again but kept to myself, now with someone like you saying pretty much the same thing linking the information way more than i had done, It really looks more true. thanks alot man.

You do realize plants use Carbon Dioxide, (Which comes from humans & animals when we exhale.) plants breath in Carbon Dioxide and breath out Oxygen so it wouldn't be a long shot to say the plants and the foliage all over Shangri-La allow the characters to breath on Mars for a limited amount of time.

Not only that but the lore itself allows magical oxygen bubbles. Hear me out: In the canonical lore: Richtofen and Shuster (?) conduct the very first live subject teleportation experiment (moon radio). Richtofen is lost for either days or weeks. In that time he is taken to both Shangri-La and to the MPD on moon before finally returning to Earth. So somehow, without any foliage or oxygen present, Richthofen survived for multiple days / hours on the Moon simply be being in a room with the MPD. I have no idea how this is possible but if this is cannon, then surely Shang having oxygen would work the same, even if someone thinks there aren’t enough plants nearby to change the atmosphere.

I remember a month ago I was watching gameplay of the shangri-la Easter egg both bo1 and bo3 back in bo1 i noticed the eclipse wasn’t the same as in der riese and looked a weird shaped but just thought it was a little editing glitch and just ignored it but then seeing it on bo3 I noticed that the moon still looked odd shaped and this was when “the secret” Easter egg was solved in tag der toten so that’s when I started thinking maybe Shang is on mars but also knowing it takes place in the Himalayas would just make me think other wise but would still have the thought “but there must be a reason why they showed mars with the shangri-la loading screen playing. But man this video just broke the ice and it was very easy to understand. I forgot that buried and Arthur were teleported. You nailed it on the head and finally gave us closure for this unsolved confusing Easter egg secret. Now I understand a lot more why it was called “secret”

15:41 idk if it’s just me or cause of the video but if you really focus on the walls you can see them change as you continue so it’s most likely is some sort of a wormhole. It makes more sense as you don’t see mars when on the actual map considering how close it is Could be due to another experiment from group 935, a Tele-Porter to our moon from earth could’ve been easier due to distance so they may of wanted to build another facility on one of mars’ moon but the only way to get there is to create a wormhole between Siberia where Tag der Toten is to the moon. But my guess is wormholes are tough to make so maybe it failed and they gave up or were all dead before they got it 🤷‍♂️

Considering time and space disposition, it's very possible that in the events of bo4 and all of the "against the timeline" actions, that because of the 115 on the ship in Call of the Dead, that this part of Siberia, like Shang, was displaced on phobos and it could be possible that reason why there is a lake that extends out towards Mars that we could be on phobos as an eclipse is happening. We do technically go to the flip side of the map when we swim through the tunnel

I am convinced you are correct BOA. i also believe that the call of the dead ee has a good role to play in it. hear me out what if because of the ultimis crew teleporting they ended trapping themselves and the call of the dead crew. noew they are on mars moon phobos. because it was severly cold and fog rolled in like what pablo stated in his recording.. Also Tag has a wormhole ya but my question is who would be using it. keepers didn't need it and there is never a mention about using a wormhole in the storyline i dont think? Unpopular opinion: BO3 isn't actually the OG zombies we all are used to. Proof is in the pudding. Theres so much changed with the maps they no longer follow the original storyline and it just makes no sense to me. The zombies trilogy literally ended on BO2s origin's (last cut scene) the fans loved zombies that much they needed to continue to make them, if you haven't noticed from the rename Der Riese changed to The Giant and now has a nod to origins although original it had nothing to do with that. The same is happening here. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the main storyline creator of zonbies leave not long after BO2 finished is cycle? That also would mean another team have picked up where he left off and have changed multiple things to try make sense of whats going off but clearly don't understand themselves. Plus the FF for shang has nothing to do with mars nor its moons but nonetheless this is still and interesting theory but I can't see it being true

What if there’s 2 tag der totens. There one that is at Siberia and one on mars’ moon. After the outbreak at call of the dead maybe some sort of teleportation or cloning thing activated meaning that there’s 2 call of the dead’s and anytime anyone enters the area they get teleported to the mars moon call of the dead. People can still teleport out of there however just like how richtofen and crew can teleport out of shangri la Also I just thought maybe because the vrill device is in call of the dead and the focusing stone is in shangri la, maybe there linked some way which is why they seem to be so similar in this aspect where they both have loops(call of the dead a space loop and shangri la a time loop)

That's not true, if Mars got closer to earth nothing would really change unless it gets very close and it would slightly disrupt our orbit or even start to orbit earth/earth and Mars orbit a point inbetween making them a binary pair. It won't get colder unless we move away from the sun.

We have seen places teleported to different locations. As for gravity and breathing air, take into consideration, when the shadow man was freed from the summoning key he pulled pieces of agartha, and every map we ever played into space just floating so you do the math friend. Also I wouldn't say it's far fetched to think this time loop eclipse is some kind of trap setup by a apothican. I would say shadow man but that's unsupported

My personal theory always was that Shangri-La doesn't have a set place if anything it keeps moving but it doesn't feel like it's moving, also I feel like Shangri-La was that time where theories kind of just went everywhere and developers just listen to the theories and thought yeah that be fun if we put that in the game and then they followed up with it. I would have liked it if Shangri-La was sent somewhere in Asia like a developer's intended I believe but then again I'm asking for a realistic grounded zombies not what it is now different tangled timelines and that everything is all screwed up
