Here is the final episode of Blackout featuring Pat Harrington, Crystal Bernard, and host Bob Goen. Sadly, despite the cool gimmick to mute clues by the opponent, the cancellation of the 13-week wonder for a brief return of the $25,000 Pyramid was no April Fool's joke.

This was the last time that Jay Stewart was announcing where he was filling in for Johnny Gilbert. So Johnny Gilbert would’ve invited back, because the show ended its 3-month run.

Yes indeed, the “$25,000 Pyramid” will remain for another 3 months until its final show was 7/1/88 when it was replaced by “Family Feud” with Ray Combs on 7/4/88.

Bob sent get better wishes to Johnny Gilbert at the end. Not to worry, Johnny would be back in the 10am timeslot the following Monday, and as for Bob...a great career was just getting started.

Not allowed, he might return the following Monday, but not “Blackout”, he will do “Jeopardy” as the announcer instead. Jay Stewart was the announcer on the final week of “Blackout”, and it was the very last time that Jay Stewart was the announcer for not just “Blackout”, but the entire game show that he did for years including “$ale of the Century”, “Scrabble”, “Let’s Make A Deal”, and many more. He passed away the following year in 1989.
