My best moment in this game was seeing a Canadian Farmer absolutely roll 3 greys in a row with their shotgun before my troops got there to support them. Looks like even in the virtual world, when war comes to Canada the gloves come off. Literally made me stand up and cheer for the mad lad

I happen to have known the XB-70 pilot who survived the crash. More specifically what happened is Walker, who was flying the chase plane during a photo shoot, was to cross over the B-70 for the formation shot they were taking. He sadly got caught in the B-70s considerable wake turbulence (I believe it may have been due to the slow flight configuration with tips extended) causing his airplane to roll out of control and into the tail. The real culprit was the circumstance as they were all the best of the best pilots. If I recall, Al had something negative to say about the photo shoot even taking place but it was a long time ago and I don't remember the exact details.

7:30 as a certified whore for the 104, I have to correct you here. The F-104 was developed as a pure lightweight day fighter, not an interceptor. Kelly Johnson interviewed Korean War fighter pilots and asked them what they needed in a fighter jet. They said speed, so he delivered by wrapping the lightest possible airframe around the biggest possible engine available. Hence the stubby wings and top speed of mach jesus. Energy maneuverability theory, air to air missiles, and the harsh lessons over Vietnam weren't a thing when it was originally developed. It eventually moved into more of an interceptor role and was quite well-suited to it, but it's not what it was originally designed for.

I’m glad to see the XB-70 Valkyrie making an appearance. It’s one of my favorite planes. The last remaining one is at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. I’ve been there a few times and seen the Valkyrie in person. It’s such a massive plane! I definitely recommend checking out the museum if you get a chance.

My "Xenonauts" strategy involves the high-capacity dropship mod. I flood the ayy-lamos with a shitload of conscripts, all with basic bitch armor and assault rifles. When they die, I throw them away and buy new ones. When I finally develop the top-tier armor and weapons, *then* I actually make gear for my groundpounders. Fewer of them die after that.

I've heard you talk about your ideas before in your previous series, so here's some food for thought. Before starting research you are given three tech tree options. 1. Ballistic--Leads to bigger guns---Mag-guns--Railguns--Relativistic weaponry. 2. Energy--Needs large batteries at first--Laser projectors--Plasma guns--X-Ray pumped weapons---Gamma Ray Emitters. 3. Psionic/Dark matter--Basically no idea, but it gets weird. Using Rituals, Mind control, summoning Elder Things, and finally calling upon Unthinkable Horrors.

More ideas have come flooding in. For defense you get three options as well. 1. Classic Armor--Armored suits--Mechanical suits--Heavy Exoskeleton Armor. 2. Proto-Reactive plates--Primitive Energy shields--Cybernetic Integrated Armor--Full Energy-shielded armor suits. {These are more cumbersome than the first option.} 3. This is the extreme option. Mutating your soldiers into superior beings. Grafting extra limbs, gorilla genetic injections, Bio-armor, and finally going Giger bio-technology. Exchanging their bodies for faster forms; sacrificing their humanity for the greater good.
