You saw Jennie on the tank in SHUT DOWN because that video is an homage to their older videos, they are "closing the doors" on their old music and "leveling up" to the next version of BLACKPINK. Many of the scenes that you saw in SHUT DOWN came from older music videos.

The year before this song came out each member was getting a lot of hate. For example, Lisa was getting racist threats of physical violence for not being Korean. Jennie was being hated for being a lazy dancer and there was a movement to get her fired. Jisoo was being called the Blackhole of Blackpink for allegedly adding nothing by a pretty face. This song is one big FU to all their haters.
