Evening to you Stephen hopefully the new DWP building, will offer plenty of new jobs for the people of Blackpool. I always feel things are very flat, straight after New Year. Some countries keep their decorations up into early February, maybe we should try it to cheer people up. The quality is fine, very interesting video once again.

The designs of new office buildings there's a much of a muchness but I do like the fact that its reddish in colour. It's not to high and the building doesn't have huge glass windows. Where I live in Scotland we have had a fair number of new office buildings built and it is local people and probably people from the surrounding areas as well who are employed. It is a quiet time after Christmas and New Year for everywhere. Been raining here all day too. Though its gone milder which I'm glad about.

I mentioned on a 'Visit Fylde Coast' video that I think the land near North Station would be better served as a green space. Especially as the Blackpool Council has been awarded 1.8 million to plant more trees. It could be a win / win scenario. However, they seem hard nosed on making it into a car park (though on Jane's video she mentioned it was only temporary until they make a final decision). The car park solution is more than likely because car parks bring in some money whereas green space's, not so much. It does seem strange though as Google Maps appears to show a car park opposite. So, if they are intent on making it in to a hard surface space, why not re-locate the Central Coach Station to this space? That would bring four transport options into the same space (train, tram, coach and taxi rank). You could even use it as a pick up / drop off point for those longer route buses such as the Lancaster one in this video. Would that be a better, long term solution?

Cynical seagull says when the DWP office is eventually open multimillions of pound would of been spent for no reason because the governments Procurement office isn't very good on value,(remember PPE) Years ago I knew a chap in the local HMRC office and one days all these new staff seats arrived about 30, not really comfortable but good for the back apparently and they cost £300 each but if they had bought them direct from manufacturer they would of been over a third less.
