Sayf The issue is exactly what you stated.." We stare at a big guy and say im sure he can fight" as i tell my girl, black people fight but we are not generally taught how to fight....also the wrestling part is very interesting i grew up in the bronx with the "brothers" and we always slapped box and boxed but when i went to nigeria for a few years as a young man they loved wrestling...i got my butt kicked by many guys my age and dare i say a beautiful girl( whom i later courted) because they had a strong wrestling base ( african freestyle wrestling.....it is quite large in west africa, the boxing in bukom ghana seems to be the anamoly) and i was sounding like my brothers in the bronx saying " yo stop grabbing thats gay" lol.... After years of boxing i quickly went to learn judo and bjj I think it goes back to the history of african american heavy weights who left a legacy of boxing in the inner cities coupled with the fact that it is much cheaper to box in the inner city...i have always felt very angry that the bjj schools are so much expensive compared to other arts. In terms of race i will say that if you take the time to listen to a full joe rogan podcast many of his internal racism does seep out...for example he has openly stated on one of his standups that he wants to say the n word( he actually said it)...and when he mocks the east coast he says things like " have you ever heard one of the brothas talk dey be like yeah man i studied tha arts" and then he and eddie bravo have a big laugh.... I will email you talk soon

Here is my issue with Joe Rogan: 1) He trained in TKD with NO PUNCHES to the HEAD! now, what weapon is most used in REAL street fights? Answer, THE BARE FIST TO THE HEAD!!!! 2) Where is the last place you want to be in a street fight? Answer, ON YOUR BACK ON THE GROUND!!!! The entire training life of Joe Rogan should have a disclaimer that says: "FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY". Lastly and most people do not know this: I live in tough NEWARK NJ (UNITED STATES). Joe Rogan was born here and moved when he was 7 years old. He is so out of touch with REAL fighting, he cannot even walk the streets of his place of birth!!!!

TheUmmahFightCamp You are very correct. His idea of fighting will get you killed in real life....i hate to generalize but he is like some euro americans that i spar with when i visit the south...they always assume d black guy is only good on his feet but then see the look of surprise when i not only submit their blue and purple belts but i can roll a little with their black belts lol... Sir did u see the email i sent you about some african american bjj practitioners who went to dakar senegal and rolled with their free style wrestlers Talk soon

Truth spoken. This message is so relevant at a time when two African Americans just medalled in the Freestyle Wrestling World Championships (Jordan Burroughs- Gold and James Green- Silver), both of whom I might add are from NJ. Right now, the man considered to be the greatest Judoka of all time is a Black Frenchman named Teddy Riner who just won his 9th World Championship. The top ranked P4P UFC fighter is Demetrious Johnson, a black man. Look at our history. Look at the history of traditional wrestling in West Africa which continues to maintain mainstream popularity in Senegal.

Problem is casual fans mention AB who is just "average" but nobody mentions Tim Bradley who is avoided in ww division. Based on some comments some say Tim Bradley is a bum because he got defeated by Pac who was beaten by their idol Floyd. I think its crazy to call Tim a bum considering that he only lost to Pac who is an all-time great fighter. Also, I believe Andre Ward includes Bradley in one of his toughest fights in the amateurs.

Peace Brother I see so many people that criticize Errol Spense for NOT ducking slipping. He says he can but he prefers to block and or move his feet so he's always in position to punch. His Trainer says by blocking and moving his feet he is always in position to throw hard shots ( blunt force trauma ) I dont see Spence as "fancy" but very effective what is your view on his decision to block rather than slip ? Peace another great video

Kevin Godbee: THE MORE "NO HANDS" DEFENSE ONE USES, THE LESS REALISTIC IT IS FOR THE STREETS. Why? Blocking is HIGH PERCENTAGE. It takes too much proper assumption to slip, duck, weave and duck. I DO ALL OF THAT and I DO THEM WELL. ANYONE can see I have a world class NO HANDS defense. I NEVER USED IT IN REAL RIGHTS.

"If you can't say "Amen," then say "Ouch!"" For what it's worth, I agree with you, sir, especially what you said about the "usual" Black opinion of MMA. A few years ago, I went to a local spot to watch Brock Lesnar defend the UFC heavyweight belt from Shane Carwin and I was the ONLY Black person in the room who was not a waitress or a bartender. That Lesnar was the UFC champ might also be the reason why some brothers I've met think MMA is a form of professional wrestling (="FAKE"), and most who say this have no idea that Brock Lesnar has a very serious amateur wrestling background. A couple of years back, one of my brothers-in-law happened to ask my wife what my favorite NFL team was and was on his way to saying something "inappropriate" when she said "My husband doesn't watch much football and no basketball," until she told him, "He's into MMA...got a bit of a mean streak, I guess." It's unfortunate that Black people don't seem to realize that we've been main-event fighters in the UFC almost since the beginning, shout-outs to the late Kevin Randleman and Carlos Newton. Far too often, America doesn't have to put us in a box, because we do it to ourselves... GREAT video, BTW!

Hey Sayf, I recently saw a video where you called Brock Lesnar a bum. What makes him a bum? personally he's not my favorite, I like Cro-Cop, Hunt, Cain, Bas and Fedor, is it because his stand up game sucks and only tries to out muscle his opponents. Peace

I'm a black 3rd generation Muslim. I don't like "mma". Not because I'm black but because I don't like what the Gracie's did to the martial arts/society. Telling people that beauty has no place in the martial ARTS, and that escalating violence in sports is good for society is clearly not good. The Gracie's basically created a disease, and sold the cure. Made a fortune.
@TheUmmahFightCamp
@TheUmmahFightCamp 6 жыл бұрын
allwell06: I do not think being a Muslim has much to do with it unless there is an objection based on striking to the face. Aside from that. The Gracies did not hurt the martial arts society in the lest. What they did was tell people "you are NOT fighting! What you are doing does not prove much because NOT everything is used." They were 100% correct. Next, I never heard them say that "Beauty has no pace in the martial arts". If they did, they likely meant that trying to LOOK like a technician does not make you a good fighter. Again, 100% correct. What they did was great for the martial arts and forced people to get real about what they were doing.
@allwell06
@allwell06 6 жыл бұрын
TheUmmahFightCamp you said yourself brother that "black people don't want to do anything unless its estheticly pleasing." In my opinion the Gracie's definitely ruined the martial arts. These guys didn't invent anything, and fooled the world into thinking that rape defense techniques are "real" fighting. They only won those "Gracie challenges" because the techniques required for a traditional martial artist to "win" against a grappler are so gruesome that any human being with compassion wouldn't do them to anyone he doesn't intend to maim or kill. As a former Kuk Sool Won practitioner from the south side of Chicago, I can tell you that all the white/yellow belt techniques of kuk sool (besides punches and kicks) would be ILLEGAL in the cage because they are designed to STOP grapplers. You know for a fact brother that all the rules in "mma" are designed to help the grappler. Most importantly the "bjj" guy. Which is why they have a school within 15 miles of anywhere you are in America. It was a big scam. Let's rush in, not protect our vital/vulnerable organs, set rules to protect them, and then say every other martial art is useless. If UFC 1 was really the ULTIMATE fighting championships, I would have liked to see Royce beat CHAMPIONS from other styles. Not bar fighters. With that being said, when the stuff hits the fan, I'm still gonna be in the ranks with you. Salaams
@TheUmmahFightCamp
@TheUmmahFightCamp 6 жыл бұрын
allwell06: I do not doubt that bJJ has flaws. You have heard me publicly state as much. My point is a simple one, like them or not, the early Gracies Fought in a way few do or did before. That is my point. They DID talk, but they backed it up with the early generations.

You know what's the real blame for this? The "turn the other cheek" mentality brought on from the 60's.I find it funny when people think MMA is a pale faces' sport when almost all of the martial arts utilized in it came from Asians and Africans.Muay Thai, karate, and jiu jitsu are obvious ones.Ancient Egyptians and Subsaharan Africans have been wrestling and boxing for millenia.

I've literally had black people tell me they're not Christians because "white men brought it to us". Which isn't true because Christianity was around in most of the eastern hemisphere before America was even thought about. And not to mention the fact that all versions of the bible describe JESUS as black lol. The same can be said for my Muslim brothers who are ridiculed because of what certain people in the east do that have absolutely nothing to do with being a Muslim.
