as a male survivor of sa when I was 12 , it was hard to open up but when I finale told trusted friends about what happened they high fived me , right on bro!. I had to swallow it and smile. I left I didn't feel it was something to celebrate I pulled over to the side of the road and cried. When I first watched this video like you I had a flood of emotions and anger. How could I have been so stupid and weak.

Shit gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. I first came upon this with the live studio version of the song. He sounds so sweet with the message at the end of the song. Then you watch this, the actual music video for it, and it gives it completely different context. The way she says “I hope you live” with the same cadence as you would say “I hope you die.” As if to say hoping someone lives (infinitely) with what they’ve done to you is worse than death, and that’s what you hope for them. So much symbolism in this music video. Never watched anything that resonated with me like this. It’s brilliant. F*cking brilliant.
