I like a light quick axe for almost every way I use one, from woodland management to carving (my heaviest felling axe is only about 6lb and I don't use it alot because of the weight) , I want to have a go with this kind of axe but I am also going to try leaving the whole head on the bar, cutting it off after the second weld, Not sure why but I feel like it would be an interesting way to do it. Thanks for sharing

Good job! I have got to learn how to weld.

Хорошо бы ручку топорика слегка обжечь и пропитать льняным маслом или пчелиным воском.👏👏👏👏👏🏆👍

you can do the weld on a piece of wood for slower cooling

Would it be possible for you to do a more in depth tutorial on welding low carbon steel to high carbon? Also, can you do a tutorial on drop tong welding?

Great tutorial. In my axe making carrier I started out with wrapped and forge welded eyes, then transitioned more to punched eyes, but now drifting back to wrapped and forge welded. I'll have to give this style a try. I'd like to see how you use it for the application you made it for. Thanks again!

4:05 Isto é muito importante... "Caldeamento é um processo lento"... E este foi um trabalho muito bem feito.👍

What scrap did you use to make your drifts so I know what to look out for
@df-intheshop3306 ай бұрын
This drift was just welded up from two wedge shaped pieces of flat bar for the sides and two tapered pieces of 3/8 square bar as the spacers for the flat bars.. I only use drifts to shape an opening not to create a larger opening from a smaller hole so they don't need take much abuse.
