tips i figured out for masterpiece quality. don't be afraid to overcommit as its not actually that strict. you never need the small hammer in my experience, the two hammers just have different sized effects. hammering the metal spreads it and hammering outside the metal shrinks it.

Actual real life blacksmith here: I really wish this game went more into the more brainy parts of blacksmithing, like different steel types and laminating them, hardening and tempering and such... Maybe later, tho! Fun, nonetheless!

yeah sadly alot of blacksmithing game dont really have any indepth explanation for blacksmithing probably cause many arent blacksmiths themselves

@@longphan7656 Yeah, I've noticed. But the metallurgy is so interesting, and the different effects everything has on the finished product! Forging could really make for a cool puzzle game!

This is true for all of us with special professions trying to find games that further the fun of our hobbies/job/interests without the restrictions of deadlines, I feel.

@@NelielSugiura yeah but that would requires a person of that specific profession to make game for people of that profession. But sadly we have game dev who don’t know about how other professions work And other professions who don’t know how to develop games

even though I'm not a blacksmith and only know some less than basic things, I'd still be interested in a game that does it right. seems like it'll be a fun introduction that's also at least somewhat educational(as it teaches terms and also gives a reason to search and find out new things on the subject out of the game)

In case you read the comments, both hammers are just that, you don't have to always use the big one to enlarge it and the small one to shrink it. You can also use the small hammer to enlarge it a bit (e.g. on the narrow handle) so it doesn't overspill as much, or you can use the large hammer to shrink it by a large amount to correct big errors

Just started, but I think it goes better in the mold when it's hot, so you would want it to heat up before it starts to get cold for more effective hammering

Be aware that, with the small hammer, you dont need to hit on the side. You can hit straight onto the blade and it will still shrink if necessary.

@@Aliensrock I think it's more about the synergy of metals. Like having all 3 metal give 3 buffs.

It should be that you get bonus hits if you add multiple coal at once (1 coal = 3 hits, but 2 coal = 7 hits, 3 coal = 11 hits etc.) to encourage you to estimate how much coal you need the first time and discourage just re-adding one coal at a time
