You just saved my dang sewing machine at 3:22. I had to take it apart due to a thread jam and could not for the life of me figure out how that hook shaped part of the bobbin assembly was supposed to go around the plate below the foot. Thank you so much for this video!

Thank you for your demonstration of servicing the singer 201. I recently purchased one sight unseen and it seems the center main rod on the bottom is frozen. I get slight movement on other gears so that is how I came to this assessment. I've tried using penetrating oil with no success. Any suggestions on what I might soak it in to get that rod free? I really would love to save this machine and not have it go for parts if possible. Thanks

Greasing of the gears is incorrect. Its an oil only machine.

I just bought a 70 year old 201 that came with a container of the original singer grease. I imagine the worm gears do need it or some more modern grease.
