Just ordered this today. I currently own a Bugera 333XL Infinium amp already with a Blackstar HTV212 Cab ( 8/16 Ohm ). Yes the Bugera kicks serious A**! The Blackstar ID 100TVP is a 4ohm Amp. So I will only be pushing 50 Watts until I can get my hands on a good 4ohm Cab. I had the chance to demo this amp head at a local store, amazing tones and sounds from this amp. Sounds good at "Bedroom" levels as well as cranked! Don't be misled by the tone snobs out there, this is a damn good sounding amp for the $.

Gotta be honest. I scooped one of these blackstar heads a few years back for 100 dollars. Guy sold it because someone threw up on it at a gig. Left a disgusting stain on the tolex.. Despite it being a biohazard, I retolexed it. Amazing amp for what i payed for it, and an even more amazingly funny story behind me owning it haha.

I like how they put "EQUALISATION", the British pronunciation version of Equalization on the EQ knobs of the amp. Also I am debating heavily on this iD100 or the Orange CR120... This has the tube sim and the mod/rev/delay effects but the orange is just so good... and it's an orange.
@Joeyace6659 жыл бұрын
True mate, I love the Orange amps too

***** hard decision, the blackstar sounds really good and seems more versatile, but the orange has a kickass tone

Either way you've been giving me epically honest product reviews for who knows how long, and you've shown me an EPIC guitarist, who, even though I'll catch you, has made me sooo much better than I would have been a this point without you as a "rabbit" to chase. such an great amplifier and the head version works the best because you can select different speakers among the "tube" selector which gives you really tasteful sounds. very good for music projects and band exersize, also for gigs if needed. this amplifier is not for the "old school" tube marshall or fender fellas. but very good for some different huge and badass modern sounds.

@ShoreStudios11 жыл бұрын
There was a point I would not touch a solid state amp for the life of me, today I would consider otherwise. Just like there is no replacement for displacement when it comes to engines, you simply cant beat the tone of a dimed SLP. The distortion is a little off it sounds amazing but it still has a bit of that silicon fizz to it, but that's because transistors don't break up like a tube does, its the one thing that is near to impossible to correctly replicate and why people love tube amps.

I can honestly say I have ditched my trple recto and Jcm for the ID100watt head on my standard cab for a few reasons..It has every bit as much headroom as my tube amps.. It takes a couple min to set up and play vs my tube heads. Sounds just as good turned down for very small gigs or even practice which I could never do like this before. And for this price,,haha, it simply cant be beat.. I never ever though I would endorse a solid state amp,ever....haha, But the boys at blackstar are killing it man.. good luck
@jesseroberson885210 жыл бұрын
***** That's awesome man.. Im actually using the 60 combo a lot now.. And man cant beat the set up and break down time.. I can dial in nearly anything with these rigs very quickly which is awesome.. My only suggestion would be a good effects loop for certain mod, tune, and signal splitting pedals.. Just imagine the possibilities.. Anyway stoked for you brother.. I have some sounds dialed in I can give you for EVH's Cathedral and some others if you like... Enjoy..

@carlmclean93046 жыл бұрын
ye just use the emulated out to the PA an ur good, Since SS amps don't need to be connected to a Load (Cab Speaker or load box) It much easier to travel with. Well as far as Guitar amp heads go anyway.
