let me tell you, these things are totally underrated. I used to gig one and not get a single comment on it. then I replaced the knobs with gold ones and removed the blackstar logo. now people are always asking me what im playing through and how im getting my tone.

Dude, nice sounding rig there! I heard a "TOOL" type tone in there and he uses $4,000 Diezel amps& $1000 Mesa cabs! Can you imagine if you threw a pair of V30's in that box, what it would do for your sound? Good vid!

Unfortunately this amp is no longer with me, however if I could get my hands on it one more time and get some box containing V30 speakers, another video might be uploaded :) thx for feedback.

I just picked up a Blackstar ht stage 100 and black star cab which got Celestion Vintage 30 speakers off Ebay for £340. Win.

How well does it take pedals? I use a lot of boosters, overdrives, Fuzz, Muff pedals & a few modifications, Delays, and Reverbs
@gordonzola664810 ай бұрын
Quite well, this was my lead guitarist's amp and he used it mainly with bunch of effeckts in loop and It handled them well. Sadly this is old video and I do not have access to this gear to make another video how it handles effeckts. 😊

iam thinking of buying this amp with the matching cabinet but isnt 50watt to loud for only usage at home or is it perfect?
@gordonzola66489 жыл бұрын
+rsprofamousboy A bit loud, 5W valve amp is super sweet for home usage. 50W valve amp is stage ready, however you can use attenuator for lowering output power while maintaining cranked valve sound if you want. Before buying try it if you can on half volume, if they let you do that in store. If it is not too loud go for it. This amp is used for band practice and it can keep quite well with loud drummers =)

I have the same head but the matching 4x12 cabinet and use a boss 7 band eq with the volume level on the EQ all the way down and that allows me to turn up the pre amp section and even the power section for that full tube tone without it being too loud. It sounds so killer especially the distortion channel.
@mikemooney17573 жыл бұрын
I have the exact same setup as what you're talking about and I use a Boss 7 band EQ and use the volume knob on it to lower the sound and at the same time to customize my tone. The Boss EQ works very well with this head.

Hey man, nice video. I have Laney L20H Lionheart head and thinking to buy some Laney cab. This one is not expensive, but are you setisfiend with tone and is it good to play live with band without micing cab?
@gordonzola66488 жыл бұрын
+Northern Revival hi, thx, this cab have nice sound, I'm satisfied with its tone.It is super for band practise and live gigs. Nice thing is that it has 2 speakers, so it it light enough for transport (especially with handles), and it can move enough air so it can be heard even without miking.

what pedals are you using? tube screamer? muff? boss od-1? I bought this amp, it cannot do the tones you show in this video ... :(
@gordonzola66488 жыл бұрын
There are no pedals used in this recording, just guitar, amp and box. Drive and clean are changed with footswitch.
