In today's video we have a look at the Blackstar HT Club 50 MKII. Is it the best gigging amp for under £600?
It is feature packed, with 2 channels, 4 voices, built in reverb, and FX loop, the ISF control which takes you from American to British Sounds. It's got the lot!
We try to show you a range of sounds and versatility from the amp, from funky cleans to powerful riffs and searing leads!
You may have asked yourself questions like; Can I gig with a Blackstar amp? What is the difference between the MK1 and MK2 Blackstar amps? And what is the best value for money valve amp? Hopefully we will be able to help you answer these questions after you watch this video!

The Lick Loft--Jet City 100hdm or 100ltd which is the el34 version. I would pay just to get rid of a blackstar.

I am also going to try a Vintage 30 and a G12T-75 combination with the 2x12 because i have a G12T. I had a 4x12 split with V30's and T75's and it sounded really nice with some good Lows and crisp highs but i went to a straight V30.

I'm torn between getting a Blackstar Club 40 MkII or a Line 6 Helix, any thoughts?
@TheLickLoft
@TheLickLoft 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Trent! Both are so different to each other and both are incredible products. The helix would need a bit more work to get your sounds set up and you'd need to look into a monitor or in ears. If your willing to put in the work in the helix is killer. I've always gigged with amps as that's what I know and I know I can set up sounds quickly on the night, and I did a few gigs with the blackstar and it was awesome!

Do you have experience using switcher looper, I own the Boss es-8, and don't want to buy the 5-button footswitch, I'm wondering inf the ES-8 will be able to do the same things than the footwitch or at least change all the 3 channles (for the Stage 100 Mark II) and activate/deactivate the reverb. Thanks!
@TheLickLoft

Sorry Noah I havent got any experience doing that with this amp. If you go to www.blackstaramps.com/uk/support They have a support contact and a forum where hopefully someone can give you the answer! Thanks :)

i had a mk1 ht stage 100 and i loved the master "depth" control on it. can the isf and bass controls make it thick enough on its own? or should i just get the mk2 ht 100?

Nomad13 Danny here - Hey we found it very thick sounding! But that's our opinion only, if you are able to try one out we'd definitely reccomend the amp! We were blown away how good it was.

So it's safe to play this head without a cab ?
@TheLickLoft
@TheLickLoft 6 жыл бұрын
Memes_a_Million hey memes_a_million, the head does need a "load". So that can be a cab or we used the two notes torpedo live which takes a "load" and provides cab emulation too.
@pauljamesstevens4955
@pauljamesstevens4955 6 жыл бұрын
Actually, it can be played without a load. It has special circuitry that puts it in a safe mode if there is no speaker cabinet or other load connected. The emulated output can still be used in this mode.

It sounds a thousand times better with an actual can, though the two notes isn't bad. Just a little flubby in this video, probably because bass was too high. But yeah, this with a 4x12 is a monster

Felix Blacksher thanks Felix for your feedback. This was our first ever time using the two notes and with the stock cabs. We were actually pretty happy with how it came out but we have learnt a lot the past 4 months using 3rd party IR's and blending them. We are getting some great results lately but it's all a learning curve right? :)

Not very realistic demo. Would be better to demo this through an actual spkr cab- since thats what most people would play in a live situation

Sounds like complete muffled processed dog shyte as usual. Mk1 has the worst ear fatique ever. Worst amp i ever owned. You can not mod this amp like the awsome, affordable, designed by Soldano Jet City amps. Besides my diezel vh4, the jet city 100ltd version is my favorite amp ever thats not hand wired point to point. I have el34s in the center sockets and kt77s in outer sockets. Various 12ax7. I got the Vh4, feedback, caps upgrade, tone pot upgrade mods. Blows the roof off. My stock 100ltd sounds perfect enough already without mods also.

Google Review sorry you felt that way about the amp, we did genuinely love it and gigged with it with great success, but I guess we all like different things right? Thanks for the feedback though, heard some good stuff too about the Jet City's. I like the look of the Amelia too as that is apparently quite similar to the Cornford MKii 50 :)
@johnnyguitar65
@johnnyguitar65 3 жыл бұрын
...and you get that same buzzy fizzy high gain dog shyte tone from a Jet City as you do from a Marshall DSL. If all you want to do is chug on the E string and play chords and riffs with no articulation that all just run together in a buzz fest of gain....then you did well to buy the Jet City. No one is impressed with your gear and I would imagine no one is impressed with your playing. The Blackstar HT's are what a Marshall should be and more...btw...how does it feel knowing that you paid for all those mods on what amounts to a Chinese made POS amp? Now, take your troll ass back to your shitty gear....play some shitty speed metal...while grown folks have a discussion about how good Blackstar HT's sound.
