Hi @PMTVUK. I am looking to use this to control some custom built hardware. I would like to set it up in custom mode to trigger PC 1-6. However, at certain points I would like it to send a PC message to the Live Logic and have it change it's selected pedal that way around. Do you think it responds to incoming midi messages like that?

Amazing video! Is it possible to map more than 6 scenes? I need to midi map 12 songs for my live set in ableton live. Since there are only 6 knobs I don't know if it's possible.

Hey mate. Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question: Is it true that you can pretty much only use 6 buttons if you're using it in ableton? Or is there a way to switch between banks when using it in custom mode? It is sort of unbelievable to me that they would only give you 6 buttons when in ableton.... makes it pretty much useless. Would love to hear some thoughts on this. thanks :)

I have recently purchased the Live Logic Midi Controller. I can midi map and record a clip, but when I hold down the switch, or double tap it, or single tap it again, the recorded clip restarts. I am unable to stop the clip or delete it or record a new clip. The Blackstar owners manual does not explain this functionality at all, unfortunately. I have updated the firmware but still no improvement. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this issue?

Hello there, thanks a lot for the video. I just got mine and I was hoping you could help me out. I installed the editor software and firmware update from the Blackstar website. I can easily assign midi clock and cc commands to the footwitches and they work great. However I am unable to get the note to send the right message. I have tried connecting the controller to pedals to trigger samples, also to my mpc and protools software and I’ve run the controller though Midi-ox Even though the Blackstar software says that the foot switch is set to a specific note, like C 2 or B3 it doesn’t safe that to the pedal and the only note it seems to send is C-1 ??? Also even though it is set to send momentary signal it latches to “note on” when pressed and doesn’t send “note off” until it is triggered again. (BTW “momentary” works perfectly fine as CC messages) I know it’s a new product but have you heard about this before? Is it a bug? Any idea on how to fix it? I have uninstalled the software and firmware update twice on my PC and my husbands Mac. The other messages work great, but I really need to the send “note on/off” to trigger my sample/loops I have also emailed Blackstar support and the official forum. Hoping to find a solution soon. Hi there Corina. It looks like you have figured out how to program this foot controller using CC Messages, notes etc. Bravo, particularly since I cannot find any instructions or information on how these various tabs are used anywhere on the Internet. I have seen some KZbin videos that show setting up CC Message as number 1 for the 1st switch to number 6 for the 6th switch. I have seen other KZbin videos that use random CC Message numbers for the 6 switches. I am totally baffled! I have contacted Blackstar by email at their “enguiries” email address, but no response with info. The only response I received was “thanks for your email and we will get back to you with a response”. So far, nothing. Also, I have seen on KZbin videos where the player does a double tap to stop recording of a clip in Ableton’s Session View, and a long hold down to delete the clip. I can’t achieve this functionality. If I tap the switch (or double tap, or long hold down), the clip starts from the beginning. How frustrating, and I wonder if you have sorted this issue out? I am looking for some help and hope you can shed some light on this dark tunnel. Happy 2024 btw!

Yes, it does, I have both and it's working well. That being said it doesn't work so well with Ableton ( especially toggle mode) ...

sorry to sound harsh but thats not helpful at all, the controller has its own surface control script for ableton and THATS the main selling point for somebody who wants to do looping. you didnt talk about that at all. also there was an annoying static sound in the background.. not very well done.
