You didn’t mention for us newbies that you need to use custom mode and not patch. Helpful video all the same although I did have to reduce the playback speed!

I did this exactly as you show BUT my record button is not staying on (I have it set to TOGGLE mode). RECORD is only on when the switch is physically pressed, turns off and stays in "play mode" when foot is lifted. Please help not sure how to fix.

@@varunavasthi7576 yes, In preferences / settings go to the MIDI tab and remove the Blackstar controller. Then it works fine to be mapped wherever you want per Abelton’s midi mapping. When Abelton recognizes the controller and loads it in, the controller is preconfigured to only do certain things and can’t be changed. Also, check the switch in the back of the unit. There are two modes, one will work and the other is wrong. Can’t remember which is which but try both

Hi . I just bought the Live logic midi foot controller . I'm facing an issue . Whenever I am midi mapping any of the buttons on live logic foot controller to any parameter on the Ableton Live , as soon as I let go of the button on the foot controller , the parameter on Ableton Live turns off. It only stays on till the time I am pressing on the button of the foot controller , even though all the settings on the software are exactly the same as mentioned in almost every tutorial online . Please help

Ugghh thanks for making this video. I have Ableton 10 and bought the Blackstar LL with the hopes that it would work fluidly with Ableton. I wanted to use it mainly for controlling the looper but liked the open ended possibilities as well. Ableton is not recognizing the BLL automatically. I finally got it to work by noticing you had 127 in the ON box. I manually typed that in and Ableton now lets me midi map. When I open the firmware update its just a box that says DFU File Path. I dont know what that means or what to do with it.

I have the same issue. I updated the firmware, plugged it into Ableton, but it's not recognised as a control surface in Ableton. Did you manage to get Ableton to recognise the device and if so, can you gimme some tips please

For anyone else with this problem, reinstall Ableton live and it should resolve the issue
