Buy a legacy spec.b 6mt if you are worried about the price of the STI 6mt. It will save you about 1-2 grand depending on where you get it. The downside is the open front differential, and the 1.1:1 center diff. However, they do have taller later gears, which a lot of people(including myself) find very enticing. They are abundant online. Anyhow, this build is very impressive, I aspire to reach your kind of fab work myself one day, since I am just a hobbyist myself. The armchair commenters are just unaware of how these things actually work and what is worth putting more effort into and what isn't.

@Carguylogan Жыл бұрын
It isn't. Not even close. Those guys did something very very sus with the dyno software. Something went down, an M90 ain't making 400 wheel. Not ever. Has never happened on Earth. The blower whine is way too low pitched to even try to attempt a high power run- listen to it. That blower would have to have a tiny pulley and would be SCREAMING and still wouldn't make 380. That dyno is off by like 100+ hp
@sjhudon386 Жыл бұрын
@@Carguylogan I didn't think so either. But I just watched Richard Holdener make 450 with a GenV M90 on top of a 4.8 Ls motor. His latest video series. Mind blown

Another comment for the algorithm. I'd love to see some upgrades done to this project, but not power upgrades. It's making great power and bordering on the the limit of the stock internals. I would like to see some thermal efficiency upgrades. I'm in Australia (g'day mate) and we have some fantastic companies down here that put alot of r&d into the supercharged L67 engine. Mace Engineering is one of them. The do a lightened rotor kit for the m90 which increases response and loweres inlet temperature. They also do air to air and water to air intercooler plates....thermal insulated spacers as well. Many other places make kits like this, I'm just using these guys as an example. I know you mentioned it was pretty knock free but any engine could benift from a cooler intake charge. Mo cold mo better. I expect the aluminium plenum is helping with a bit of heat transfer too. Would be interesting to see the intake air temps. Fenix radiators do a great upgraded radiator for the EZ30 as well. Over twice the thickness of a standard core. Benifits to be had from an external engine oil cooler ( over the factory one ) and maybe even a transmission cooler too....that might help that poor little 5 speed live a bit longer. Someone mentioned using 250w gear oil in the 5 speed...and i also 2nd this motion. A dash of friction modifier wouldnt hurt either. Keep an eye on the accessory drive tensioner pulley, they like to undo themselves and fall off. It's awesome to see you using an Aussie ECU as well 👍 I totally understand this is a budget build. Im 100% all for that. Im not trying to make you spend money, just offering suggestions and being part of the chat. Cheers 👍

Made 400whp and so much torque, it squated the towbar into the ground. These engines are sooo slept on, been saying it for years. Will eventually build one with forged goodies but keeping the stock comp. Given 10psi through a gtx3576r on e makes 400whp, 20 psi should see 500whp relatively easily.
