The later M90 superchargers off the 04-07 GTP came with a drive-by-wire throttle body. Not sure the throttle flange would match that Gen 3 blower, but the 04-07 blower (gen 5 m90) are more efficient. Also, there is a tool out there to machine the snout down to run a smaller pulley, and all you need is a drill. As someone who has messed with a lot of GTPs, that blower sounds like its spinning about the stock speed for a 3800, so you can definitely go down a couple sizes on the pulley. The 3.6 is going to be way more efficient at moving air through than the 3800 could ever dream of being lol. Awesome build! Thanks for the inspiration.
@BlackthumbTV9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info! I had also considered driving the blower off a custom pulley on the alternator to fix the issue, but I'm trying to contain myself as I don't think this engine can handle much more (given what I've seen from the turbo guys). The drill-tool sounds quite interesting though, I'll have to keep that in mind just in case.

This is epic. mad love for the ez30. some solid engine and transmission mounts would definitely increase the driving experience. After installing Kien mounts in my 04 6 spd ez30 legacy, the throttle response was so much crisper and the engine noise inside the car increased massively. highly recommended for maximum auditory enjoyment.
@taylorhickman848 ай бұрын
yeah that motor movement looked a bit extreme. how does the 3.6 compare in terms of reliability to the 4cyl?
@brodyfinlayson13218 ай бұрын
@taylorhickman84 3.0 ez30 is a lot more reliable at similar power levels (240hp) than the ej. But not so much when boosted. The 3.6 is weaker than the 3.0

As a Subaru guy and love your content. This is the kind of car shenanigans. My 1st swap was a JDM EJ207 in to a US Sti. Doesnt sound special but back in 2009 it was rare because of the US spec STi was a completely different ECU, sensors and wiring. I had to solve all these things myself, no guides, no kits. Nothing against the bolt-on guys, I just need more of a challenge. Im blessed with the ability and knowledge to completely assemble, install, manufacture small things, wire and tune. There is alot of space to fill with boost. It would have taken longer but separating the big pancake manifold into individual runners would have helped power and response drastically.
@BlackthumbTV8 ай бұрын
It doesn't make as big of a difference as you'd think. I tuned a Miata with an intercooled supercharger kit, where the intercooler was after the supercharger/throttle body, meaning it would see both boost and vacuum. It did make a difference in both time to build boost and time to build vacuum, but nowhere near as much as I had anticipated. This setup builds boost as fast as you can open the throttle effectively, and change to Decel/vacuum delay isn't noticeable vs the stock manifold.
