We Didn't Expect to Catch This! | Coastlines - Episode 3

In this episode of BlacktipH, we went fishing using kites fish from the beach, searching for a giant wahoo, and caught something we didn't expect! The day began by putting up the red kite, and after a few attempts, it was clear that we needed to switch to the white kite. Preston caught a small baitfish, and I got the white kite in the air- hooked up the bait and sent it out to deep blue sea (100's of feet in depth). Throughout the day, we both got bites, but every fish seemed to break our line off on the ledge. At the last hour of the day, I hooked a 200-pound lemon shark and reeled it onto the beach before popping it off.

My son is a big fan. Y’all need to try this again. As an avid offfshore fisherman who’s spent many days trolling the super-near shore walls of San Sal and southern Bahamas, you’re doing what every one of us has dreamed is possible. If you pulled off a Wahoo or Dolphin you’d be a total legend. There’s 10 more islands you could do it. I’d switch your dinky reel for something that holds a lot more 100’ish braid. If you put in 3 or 4 days you’d get one.

Just drop the bait with the drone and float it with a balloon 2m above the bait. Keeps live bait in strike zone at all times. Super easy. We target pelagic species in SA like that.

Here in western australia wew spin and balloon (similar to kite fishing) off the cliffs where the water below is probably 80ishft deep, plenty of macks, tuna, wahoo, sails have been caught there, you should come some time

@blacktiph Hahaha I just had a great idea Josh! I was trying to figure out where that green stain came from on your shirt. Then it hit me. You should print your shirts with a permanent line stain right on the front there. That way if the line stains it green, yellow or orange and it doesn't come out in the wash. You'll never notice it.

Go look up south Africa surf fishing for big bronze whalers and that is with 50lb test most of the fish easy over 250lbs and just one person assisting in landing the fish. It's not the line, it's technique
