Y'all should really come out to New Zealand to do some fishing at some point. The bay of Islands is an insane fishing spot with the biggest striped marlins in the world, and we have some of the biggest amberjacks in the world (we call them yellowtail kingfish) but they are massive and can grow up to 150 pounds and they are beautiful fish. Love the content and are looking forward to seeing more soon!

my buddy was killing the massive cuberas in belize about 4 years ago he a caught 110lb cubera. he didnt bother to send any of the test line lb test the measurements or weight into get the record if im not mistaken they were using 40-50 mono. small leader. all i can say that i know, he still wont give up the spot. he caught it fishing a cenote which is a a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting when a collapse of limestone bedrock exposes groundwater. this one was on the back side of the main island so it was 12-20feet all around the centone. I'm planning a on going out next week and he owes me so Im going to clear his debt with gps coordinates

Idk why he wouldn't just use a descender. Don't need to waste hooks and leave a broken rusty one in a fishes lip waiting to fall out. Easier to use too and you already have a down rigger
