I did Kyokushin growing up, now do Muay Thai, and think in MT I miss out a bit on the focus on technique aspects like in Kyokushin. e.g. For Kyokushin front kick, we drilled sooo much (yes, boring!) technique pointing the ball of the foot like a spear. Up and down the hall, up and down. In MT much less formal, and I never had the technique broken down to me how we did in Kyokushin. Anyway. The other big benefit of this strike is long range vs. hitting with shin/instep. May not look like much, but if your opponent is good at judging distance and expecting shin, he's gonna think he's out of range when this kick can reach perfectly. Definitely going to bring this to my game, thanks again.

Hey man great content. Did you know a karateka from Japan got almost killed with this kick? His opponent accidentally kicked him in the spleen and caused internal bleeding. They didn't notice the bleeding untill a few hours passed. They realized something was up and rushed to the hospital saving the guy

This kick works a treat especially to the liver. Even a short kick off the front foot to the tip of the floating rib has worked for me on several occasions both on the mat and elsewhere. ;)

Another great video remember Bas Rutten used a very similar technique to great effect throughout his career was more of a Mae Geri but setup the same way with round house kicks. The rear leg side kick is also great when set up this way
@NeroMMA4 жыл бұрын
For sure! Its disgusting when you get hit by it😂
@DwellingTheAbyss4 жыл бұрын
Bas rutten also learned kyokushin... I saw one of his videos a while back where he basically breaks down some of hisTechniques and greatly mentions kyokushin as the main effector. Here it is kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2avd6hpZtd4bs0 .

There are some lead leg knock downs by Semmy Schilt him self on old k-1 matches her on KZbin. The fact that you hit with this small surface makes all the difference. Remember that I even made it work when the opponent hade his guard thigh to the body as the ball of your foot snuck around the elbow/arm having the angle it have.

Salam. Thank you man I've become a fan. Will be following your success. Brother I'm a beginner if you can tell me. How often do I have to stretch the legs to get more flexible and higher kicks?

Is the angle somewhere between a roundhouse and a front kick/teep? Would you throw it right down the middle like a front kick/teep?
@NeroMMA4 жыл бұрын
Think of it as a mix between the two! Diagonally inward!

Bro I'm left kick heavy but I can bullshit my right high kicks with this variation. I literally only ball kick with my right leg to the face
@Vinnay94 Жыл бұрын
If you're gonna use this Kick, I recommend you don't do it loaded like a MT Roundhouse. Lead Leg or Back Leg Snap Kick is more safer.

i cant bend over my toes :c by a Mae Geri it is 'okay... but by the mawashi? Thanks boy! i will test it Osu!
@Vinnay94 Жыл бұрын
My Mawashi Geri Chosoku is between a Yoko Geri and Mawashi Geri in terms of angle. Some people do it more like a 45° Mae Geri.

Kinda funny how Humans stub there toes probably over 10 times per year. It's like this Kick was designed to be used by Humans. Of course you should aim for the ball though.
