The people who disagree that Blade saved Marvel studios are just factually wrong and just don't want to give Wesley his credit. They'd rather give it to Tobey Maguire and the Spider-Man movies or Hugh Jackman and the X-Men movies. But Blade came before them and without the success of the 1st movie Marvel studios would have gone bankrupt. It's weird people try to overlook the importance of this movie and l have my theories why but it doesn't matter because no matter what some say you can't rewrite history!

The beginning of Marvel's golden age on film with the first character of the comics to have a box-office smash. The 2nd Rated-R movie for a Marvel character after The Punisher (1989). Undoubtedly the first, real kick-a** Vampire movie. Following his first mainstream appearances on Spider-Man:The Animated Series (1994-1998). From the darkside of the Marvel Universe, inspired by blaxploitation films (a la' Shaft & Blacula) and debuting over 50 years ago in 'The Tomb of Dracula' comics as one of Drac's many foes. Prior to being casted as Blade, Wesley Snipes as actor/producer was involved with developing Black Panther (at the time, a Sony property). Frustrated with how to make BP, he received the BLADE script and said yes to it. Snipes had never known that Blade or Black Panther were both from Marvel. The director Stephen Norrington (effects background) did a great job with this. Stephen Dorff (The Gate, SFW, Immortals) doesn't get enough credit as one of the best vampire villains on screen. The blending of everything in this film is phenomenal. His origins to the world he's lives, breaths and hunts in. No expense spared on blood, gore, suspense, action and drama. Cool merch with the prequel comic, Blade #0 to the soundtrack by TVT records and the PS1/Game Boy Color games. The Blade trilogy was written by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Trilogy). Part 2 (2002) is great and Part 3 (2004) is controversial. At the end of the day, it's great to see more love and appreciation for the Daywalker. RIP indeed to musician/actor Kris Kristofferson (Whistler).

Wesley Snipes is my favorite Black super hero to be in a movie, after that it's Killmonger. If I was President I would go all out with a two and a half Blade 4 movie starring Wesley, with two villains or maybe a Hell Raiser cross over that would fall under the category of Gore, Horror, Action, Suspence, SiFi, Super Natural. But I also believe two heads are better than one, so after that I would give Ali his. I would get Wesley, Jordan P, Coogler, or the Hughes brothers to write it, if they are still alive. Then I would get the director from Terminator 2 and the director from Justice League to co direct it.

As a teenage boy in the 90s, action films and techno music were my thing. The 90s closed with Blade and The Matrix as my favourites. Karen was a Haematologist or blood doctor, so finding a cure for vampirism was a field that she was uniquely qualified in. Explaining how zombies exist and showing "biscuit boy" Pearl extends the lore nicely beyond just normal vampires. Not all reactors are sharp enough to notice that the blue liquid is not Blade's serum, so kudos to you for that. Twilight gives a more modern, but very strange take on vampires. Blade's vampires are pure evil and so familial bonds mean nothing. This is why his mom didn't search for him, or didn't care that he was going to be bled out for the prophecy. All that matters is their thirst for blood. Blade 2 has the action dialed up to eleven, but because Guillermo del Toro is in charge, it's more horror oriented. The lore is also expanded very well too. Thanks for sharing your first-time watch of this classic...! 👍🏻

Glad you enjoyed the movie. Blade is always a dope movie to watch and I'm glad its getting more and more fans these days. It deserves it. It was always a hit movie but a lot of people still didn't know about this movie. Especially newer fans of the comic book genre after the mcu. I DEFINITELY recommend checking out Blade 2. Its my personal favorite of the franchise. Blade 3 isn't as good as the first 2 but its not the worst movie ever. And you might wanna check it out still to have a lil more context behind the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Well I hate to break it to the one's who disagree about Blade saving Marvel. Its objectively true so you can't really disagree. It did a lot more than just that too. First R rated Marvel movie, paved the way for future Marvel movies, imo inspired the Matrix franchise which we all agree is a classic, it even inspired the Black Panther movie a lil bit. It was one of the few Black led superhero movies we had that was good enough to be considered a classic. And not just in the Black community. It's not the first Black led superhero movie though. That credit goes to either Spawn or Steel. But I think its the only hugely successful one. 16:41 Bald spot? To explain to you since alotta ppl misunderstand, the reason Vampires are afraid of humans is the fact there are significantly more humans than vampires and humans can fight at night and the morning plus they can train to get stronger and more efficient at eradicating them since they literally have more time and leeway. While terrifying, it's not a close fight
@SnowyWolborg3 ай бұрын
It has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with practicality. Frost's problem is that he's trying to act like a supervillain with the whole "let's rule the world thing." And that might sound cool to someone only a couple of decades old, but for people who have survived this way for thousands of years, they know from proven experience that you don't need to rule the world when you _control_ the most powerful people in the world like they are your puppets.
