Among the many surprises at The Game Awards 2023, we got our first glimpse of Bethesda’s upcoming Blade game. Developed by Arkane Studios Lyon, this third-person action game puts players in the shoes of Marvel’s most iconic vampire hunter. It’s such a natural fit that we can only question why it’s been 20 years since the last Blade game.
The Blade game and the upcoming Blade movie reboot are both coming at a critical time for Marvel, as the company moves forward after a rough 2023 and embraces this iconic vampire hunter as a key part of its future. Is Blade the cure to what ails Marvel these days? It wouldn’t be the first time. Thank you IGN for helping make the history of Blade, and how he saved Marvel, more widely known. Put it this way, without Blade, the company might not have been able to stay afloat. And Blade's success made it way easier for Marvel to license it's properties to big studios for better deals (before Marvel/Disney became so big that they BOUGHT those studios). If the Blade game is just Dishonored with a Bade skin - I'm still going to buy it!

The Blade films did not influence the comics. He was already like that before the movies came out. This is obvious as my first introduction to Blade was the Spider-Man '94 series, which was influenced by the comics. The movies were just an excellent adaptation. The movies later influenced his look, by giving him sunglasses but that's about it.
