I have a 4x90 doop, definitely the shoe to use is important, I used to wear vans but the foot moves a lot, but with tighter shoes it improves the sensation, a review in an urban area with a few simple jumps would be interesting.

@@MrKoreanboy100 Futsal shoes. Mizuno Morancida Neo. This one has no EVA cushion on the heal. I've used ones with cushion like the Asics Toque 7, they work well. Keep in mind these types of shoes fit really tight but they are quite comfortable because of the soft upper. If you have wide feet, stick to Mizuno or Asics.

I bought them as a beginner, riding for 3 years now, not thinking to change them for a normal blades. I don't even know how the normal blades rides, maybe they are better, but I love those and I'm comfortable with Doop.

I have the model for 3 months now and Samsung health says I skated around 400 km with it. Using very slim sneakers feels nice. Definitely not the same level of support as Powerslide EVO or Next, tho.

What do you recommend for beginners instead for city skating to nearby destinations? Like a coffee shop or groceries? Assuming I can just bring a bag for them with spare shoes

It seem like the company discontinued, theres not anything new on their website. I hope any new company would pick up the design and try to fix the doop skate's flaws.

I had them once on my feet for 10 min and it was enough. For freerider it's major no. However for the commuter who is interested just in riding forward and stoping with T-stop or built brake it can be something great. However, they are way too expensive if you ask me.

It kindof just seems like the problem is the shoes. The boots on inline skates are normally really snug. I feel like if you had really snug shoes too they might feel better to skate in? Idk

I live in Florida and was thinking of buying these for the hot and humid summers here. Using regular skates makes my foot and shins sweat like crazy during the summer. I was thinking this might keep my feet cooler. But your negative review is making me think twice, especially since it is also expensive.

This is disappointing. Not sure what I expected but I was thinking these might make a good travel skate? In saying that, you're not saving much in terms of space when carrying the skates and the only difference is you don't need to carry your shoes when rolling. Thanks for sharing.

They are honestly bad, as you can get far better skates for the same price. The gimmicky idea of keeping your shoes on is not worth what you sacrifice in exchange. Maybe if they were $100 cheaper it would be ok. I never use these skates, in fact I'm trying to sell them and no one will buy them even at a very low price

I just don't get the appeal of these. They're bulky and silly. Sure, you can walk around in shoes and then put them on, but they just seem so gimmicky.
@AllUneedisLuvLuv
@AllUneedisLuvLuv 3 жыл бұрын
For me the appeal as a beginner was having the option to switch to shoes if I skated somewhere and was too scared to get the rest of the way home. Like if the hill was steeper than i realized and well beyond my skating ability or I needed to cross a street and didn't want to fall in front of people. I had ordered doops as my beginner pair because i thought being able to take them off would be such an amazing feature. But after trying them on, i realized they were not at all ideal and i sent them back and got real skates instead. I've been very happy i made that decision and love the urban skates i got instead.
@fufu1405
@fufu1405 3 жыл бұрын
@@AllUneedisLuvLuv I think it's important to get skates that perform very well as a beginner, so you don't get burned out by having sloppy skates. Even if you're scared you might have to take them off mid session, you're gonna have a pair of shoes with you anyway. I'm just writing this for the people who are thinking of buying these.
@ValenSerethi

I do a lot of long distance skating, I also use skates as my go to means of getting around my city, especially in summer. Taking off my shoes and having to carry them around when switching between shoes and skates is annoying. The idea Doop Skates are about shouldn't be abandoned, it's not gimmicky, it's pretty awesome and practical for some people. Execution was for shit, though.
@JayG-qm2kn
@JayG-qm2kn Жыл бұрын
I agree. The idea is not gimmicky and actually very practical for commuters. I really hope PS or someone else redesigns Doop and fixes the issues, because the concept still has so much potential. Where Doop seemed to fail was in three key areas: 1. the fully modular skate was not modular where it needed it the most: accommodating higher and wider shoes (which apparent most people had and wanted to use with the Doop exoskeleton at the very high price of the skates); 2. the quality (control): the quality of the size adjustment mechanism seemed to have plagued all versions from Swift 1 to Yellow 100 (likely the biggest reason why many failed to like Doop) 3. While better than changing into and out of normal skates, they were heavy and for most, also finicky and just as slow to put on as the normal skates. Had I known all that beforehand, I would have passed on Doop altogether, but with some tweaks and care over the years, I still use my 1st gen Swift 1 for commuting.
