Missed out on the Benchmade 940/ Osborne designed. That's a magical knife. Good steel, easy and light to carry, titanium back spacer, and damn sexy!

I EDC a spyderco civilian and adding a Yojimbo 2 with it in the next few days. Also, it should be noted that a good edc should be based on the tasks you require it to perform. Great vid.

For the $50 price point I'd recommend the Kershaw Link

I have an embarrassing number of the budget knives you mentioned. Of all of them, the Zancudo was my biggest surprise. Light, flips like a champ and the ffg blade is like carrying your sharpest paring knife everywhere. You should really take a look at the Kershaw Camber for your $75+ models. The ergo's are very solid, the blade is stonewashed S30v, and weird knife design choices (recurves, finger grooves for alien hands) driven by style are kept to a minimum. Yes I would've preferred that it not be Speedsafe, but it's all so well executed I even like the assist.

driver8sk Thank you for the recommendation, Driver. The Camber looks nice, especially for the money. You might see it on my channel at some point. :)

Great video, thanks for the upload. For people eyeing the Voyager, a good alternative is the *Gerber Gator* folder. I personally think Cold Steel borrowed heavily from that design for their knife. I carried one for a couple of years until I lost it, but the gator is a solid EDC for a reasonable price; plus you can sometimes pick them up at your local Walmart.

Maybe do a lineup of under 25 or 20, 15 and 10 dollar knives, fixed or folding, I think would be interesting, there are a few great knives for that cheap!

I agree Jason. For a second I was going to include my San Ren Mu knives, but one has an axis lock so I didn't want to use it. I left out the fixed blades... could be the subject of a follow up video.

BladeReviews.com That is exactly what I was getting at! A budget EDC roundup, and a fixed blade EDC lineup. This of course, has been done before, but I like your chioces in knives, your input and commentary, and I like how these videos were done.

So am I weird for liking to carry longer knives? I really like the size of my Gerber Evo. I carried my CRKT M16-12ZER for quite a while but went back to the Evo because I don't like that my pinky doesn't really grip the handle and it feels kinda thick in my back pocket(where I always carry it). Also it's length and width made it jab in my ass all day ha.

Strangely, here in the People's Republic of Mexifornia, there is no upper limit. Firearms are another story, but the 🔪 Knife Nazis haven't been particularly active here ... at least not yet. Slight correction:. I think a few individual cities may have upper limits.

No one ever says EDC for what? What will the knife be used for? Not one of these knives, nor any other tactical style pocketknife is worth a nickel to me. Tactical knives are designed for fighting. They'll open a package, cut a string, or slice a pile of foam, but for real world uses outside of what any box cutter can do, they're all completely useless. There's an old sayin, "If a box cutter can do what you knife does, sell your knife and buy a box cutter." I have no plans for getting into a knife fight, so what good are tactical style pocketknives? I know such knives have been the rage for the last fifteen years, probably because of 9/11, buy I need knives to use out on the real world, even out in the woods, and not one of these knives is worth a nickel out in the woods, or even out in my workshop. When is someone going to do an EDC lineup for people who actually use knives, and who don't plan on getting into a knife fight? These single bladed, tactical style pocketknives are as useless as teats on a boar for people who actually use knives out in the reak world, even if one costs five thousand dollars.

It's as simple as a matter of preference, my man. Is a box cutter more practical for you? Go for it. I like knives, I'll go for a knife. That doesn't mean anything, it's just what I like.
