I love how Scott takes it in such a stride. Miyazaki has a really interesting vision with half-animal or talking animals... For anything that doesn't have a human face (and I mean, a 100% honest-to-Ring human face), the voice doesn't have to match the physic in *any* way, and I find that fascinating. Lots of exposure turns into big influence input, which can turn into bigger influence output. Like it or not, anthros are overthrowing the media by force and ease, in haste and pace.

All these tweets about wanting to screw Blaidd, and while that would be nice, I'd prefer an optional ending where you can cure his madness after the shenanigans of Ranni's quest line, and have him at your coronation as elden lord. He's her most loyal companion, and helps you out throughout her quest line, and even helps you fight one of the biggest bosses in the game, and she just abandons him without saying goodbye, and the only option the player has is to kill him? I don't care what the game wants, I'm avoiding that area of the game until a patch or a mod makes it possible to save him.

She does remark to you that she wants you to let Iji and Blaidd know that she loves them. Blaidd is controlled by Ranni's Two Fingers as her dedicated wolf, and is leashed to serve the will of the Two Fingers. It is why Ranni destroyed her body with the fragment of destined death; to escape their control. Blaidd would have killed Ranni if the Two Fingers knew of her plan, which is what he attempted to do when he invades you before you get to the Lake of Rot. A lot of George R.R Martin's writing has tragic endings to characters, and so does Miyazaki's. It's not often their interest to give you a pleasant ending, and it's the tragedy that makes you even more fonder of their characters. They could have done something where you're able to do a similar thing that Ranni did to her body to Blaidd to help escape from the will of the Two Fingers, but it ultimately doesn't change his fate in being unable to protect Ranni. Putting him in a stuffed animal to carry around with you would be a nice way to get extra dialogue in the world though.

@@spamuel98the fire looks different than that of the black knife assassins. He also has a Sui.. speech for what he has done to blaidd. And to top it all of the game straight up tells you that iji uses special flames to craft his weapons and these weapons cannot be infected by the scarlet rot. And which flames does iji use? Well he uses the exact same flames the foreskin apostles and nobles use. The dead assassin near him just got bodied by him that’s all. Just like blaidd bodied the 3 assassins near him. However I find it hard to believe that iji or even blaidd can easily kill 3 black knife assassins while godwyn died to them and he was a Demi god quite possibly an empyrean as well given how much influence he had I wouldn’t be too surprised if he was even tho it was never mentioned. Again I find it weird how a Demi god possibly an empyrean died to black knife assassins yet iji and blaidd can easily kill 3 of then without a problem. Would love to know how they killed godwyn especially since he had an entire army of dragons. Sure they could have ambushed him but how would they invade his place when there’s guards, dragons and all kinds of crucibles keeping an eye out and to top it off it’s not like he himself was weak either he had some insane feats and could easily beat ancient dragons. I just don’t understand elden ring lore sometimes

I was actually miserable when I had to kill Blaidd in my first playthrough. Ranni is a maiden, but Blaidd was my friend. Finding him in Mistwood, killing the first Bloodhound with Blaidd, summoning him to help me fight Radahn only to see him go mad, disoriented and attacking me. Had to quit for a while after that. One of the best souls-characters if not the best. Bro was always worried about me.
