Don't forget US Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg babbling madly about "racist roads" and claiming that bridges were deliberately built low to prevent black people from travelling by bus to the sea-side.

We have all been trained throughout our lives to look at big events and drama as the changing force in society. The reality is far from it and is to the contrary a slow and incremental turning of the wheel. As Rave stated, The long march.

She had the excellent Ben Habib on earlier. He's an intellectual heavyweight with a deeply insightful view on today's Britain, not to mention a captivating speaker, and he got to speak probably less than 1/5 of the time he was on. Alex is likeable, but she has to learn the art of interviewing a little better.

This type of matter came from Colonialism's consequences, but has now developed as a problem. Although Colonialism was/is a good thing, many British people in their eagerness to please, had affinity with groups of people in a presumptuous way. Therefore many history books cast the blacks of South Africa as people who had migrated in a peaceful way from mid-Africa southwards, constantly seeking better habitat for their tribe and livestock. Well, most of that can't be true, taking in consideration the brutality, war, mad kings and queens, theft, murder etc - all before Colonialism. They probably had to flee southwards, killing on their way. Other people (especially the Boer) were cast as rather negative.
